No sound in game
I've seen this issue reported twice (once in general and once here in bugs) but without a definitive solution being provided.

I really loved the demo and had no issues with the sound... now that I've beaten Baldur's Gate 3 I was really hoping to jump into your game, but unfortunately there is no audio when I pull it up.

The system audio is turned on, volume mixer shows the game audio is on, the sound bar is on and the volume is up, other games and system events produce sound, and the menu in the game indicates that all volumes are turned up.. When the game starts up, there is a window with the game's title that is visible. That seems to close as the application goes full screen, I hear a deep whoosh, and then there is no more audio.

So far I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, I tried uninstalling then restarting my computer and then reinstalling, and I have tried verifying file integrity. None of these have solved the issue.

System Info:
OS: 64-bit Windows 11 Home Edition V. 22H2 Build 22621.2134
Processor: 11th Gen Intel i5-11600K @ 3.90 GHz
RAM: 2 x Crucial Ballistix DDR4 8 GB @ 1333 MHz
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB @ 2321 MHz

I really loved your game in the demo version... I sincerely hope we can find some way to get it working!

Hi! If you hear the deep whoosh when the game finishes loading, that means the game does sound in your computer. So now we have to figure out why nothing else is playing.

For now we could try two things:

1) I guess this is obvious but... have you tried checking the settings in-game and turning down/up the volume sliders?

2) could try this: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1340480/view/3686812408430894319?l=english ? (if it doesn't work, please go back to the main branch!)

I really want to help you because as you say this is an extremely rare case bug that we really haven't found and can't reproduce, so that makes it really, really hard for us to fix it or help those with the bug so far.
I'm so sorry this is happening to you, and thank you so much for the report and the patience.

1. I mentioned it up top, but I did check again and the in game sliders were turned all the way up. I tried different volume levels on them and still didn't get any audio output.

2. I gave the beta a shot, but it also didn't work (I went ahead and reverted back to normal)

Well, I'm happy to help if you can think of anything else that would be useful information on your end. Again, from what I have played I really enjoyed the game and would love to play through the full story.

While you're in the thread, I'll also leave a suggestion for adding an 'exit to desktop' option from the menu... I wouldn't have noticed the option wasn't there if I didn't need to do it so many times in a row lol

Still really disappointed that there isn't a solution for this... In my continued attempts to enjoy your game I did figure something out. When starting the game in windowed mode it has sound! I hear the whoosh and then music beings appropriately.

As soon as I change to fullscreen, the sound disappears. It seems like it has something to do with running the game at resolutions greater than 1920xx1080. The sound also works on resolutions smaller than that...

When opening the game in windowed mode, there is sound.
Changing it to fullscreen removes sound.
Changing it back to lower resolutions does NOT restore the sound.
Closing the game and then reopening it in windowed mode DOES restore the sound.

It is isn't great... I'd love to play the game with sound AND in fullscreen... but hopefully this helps.

Hi, sorry but we aren’t able to reproduce this bug and we don’t have enough reports to have actual information to fix it. Game works on bigger resolutions above 1080p without any issues on our side and all the testing the game has gone through (and I guess many players since we don’t really have any bugs on that side)
I’m really sorry about it but so far we really can’t do anything yet.

I experienced this too upon first opening the game and the setting screen mode was set to fullscreen. Once I switched resolutions based on this thread, going back to fullscreen doesn't seem to cause sound issue.
