10 tips for fight mode Tier 1
Here's some things I've figured out that may help other people, in no particular order.

1) As far as I'm aware, there is no time benefit to smashing the pads that appear on the dummy itself. Since they stick around for a while, this allows you to be strategic about when you take them on. In other words, deal with the arms first, until you have a clear shot at the pad.

2) Never strike a pad that appears on the dummy from the side, only square-on from the front, otherwise your strike will be read as hitting the other arms and count as errors.

3) If you're trying to do better on the leaderboard, even one mistake is too much because you'll lose your 4x multiplier. Start over.

4) How hard you punch counts, as does how accurately those strikes are.

5) If you tuck your hands up under your chin too much, the device may not track them. Sometimes it just freaks out and misses stuff and you'll get a false mistake counted against you, but it's worth spending the time to get your blocks right.

6) For me it thinks my arms are a little shorter than they are. In the options, you can turn on pass-through and see if this is the case for you. I think maybe the loading screen for the game will show you too. The only workaround I've found is to punch 'though' the pads to make sure solid contact is made. My scores went up once I realised this. Suddenly the game detected my punches much more strongly. It should only take one solid punch to dispatch a dummy pad.

7) Pass-through mode is awesome for feeling safe and orientated in real space.

8) I like to turn the music off so I can hear the sound cues better. Like in training, if arrows are turned on, you can hear them better.

9) Towards the end, it's worth keeping an eye on the time as it will usually put up some dummy pads at the last moment. Unlike usual pads, these ones are time critical because you only have a few moments to strike before the round ends.

10) In tier one, punching hard and making no mistakes, you can get up to around 810K points. Don't worry about the highest score - it's 1,440K, but I'm pretty sure that's not even a real score. It's anomalous to a normal statistical distribution. Maximum achievable real scores would top out below 900K.

Hope that helps others!

The major update makes tip #2 no longer applicable. There are some pads that *will occur on the side of the dummy that are locked to your movements, so you *must hit them from the side

Oh it's a real score all right. 😃 However, your doubt is very much an awesome compliment. Thank you!
