How to block and punch accurately
Nice game! But the success of blocking and punching seems really random. I can make 3 consequtive punches that look identical to me, but one is correct, one is a fail/too slow, and one gets excellent.

Is there a specific way to move the arm for blocking (which also has random results for very similar actions), and a specific way to punch. I have not been able to get past level 1 because I keep failing what seems to be randomly. The framerate is fine, so this shouldn´t be it.

Second this - came here to request a tweak to the blocking mechanism specifically if feasible. This game is so cool and a good workout, but I'm getting frustrated with how often my block is registered as a punch (and thus a fail) or how random it seems the success of timing is. The runs I think I am doing best often turn out to be some of my lowest scores and having the next tier locked behind scores makes that even more frustrating. If the hitboxes can't be easily tweaked, would love to see some sort of god mode where I can jump into a crazy high tier level and just enjoy the workout, as I think this is where the game will really shine for replayability

same here, so many of my blocks are somehow punches when it's right in the middle of my forearm.

I found that making sure your arm is perpendicular to he floor it's perfect

Same here. I just played the demo and I did what I thought was a proper block, but the old man says "Too bad" or "Too slow"
Same with some of the punches. I land a punch but see the message "Try harder"
Would be nice if there was more detail, maybe in the tutorial as to what the player is doing wrong.

Mine keeps doing the same now I've managed to get my Vive working again.

Level 1 keeps telling me blocking is too slow and punches too early. Although it scores me 97% and I got 21K on the score, also my dodging is always 100% and still, it won't let me past level 1. It does seem that randomly, a block is interpreted as a punch and there seems to be no reason for it.

If I block any earlier, I'd have to walk around the dummy to reach it. If I left it any later to punch, the pad would smack me in the head.

I found this helpful for blocks: 1. Moving the controller further up in my hand to give me more "arm" in the game. 2. Viewing the example figures buried in the menus of the game. 3. Practicing blocks in focus mode until I really got it down.
