Just started the game - tutorial?

I just got this game, and am in the tutorial. I got the first 2 targets, the 3rd target is using the Q/E keys to target the distance. I did that, and keep knocking the target down, but it does not take me anywhere after shooting the same target multiple times. On the first 2 targets, once they were knocked down, it automatically set me up for the next one. The third target just keeps me on that target and I do not advance? Am I doing something wrong?

Yes, it is tagged, but I just keep shooting it and knocking it down, and nothing advances me. Wow, just bought this game and the tutorial is bugged? I tried standing up and moving around thinking it may advance me, but still does not!

No it is not bugged. Whether you advance or not depends upon what the handler tells you to do. Do not shoot/tag the targets until he tells you to do so even if you know what to be done.

These are the steps the handler tells you to take.
1. Pick up the rifle.
STANCE window pops up.
2. Go prone.
3. Binocular + tag the first fool indicated by an emerald square.
TAGGING window pops up.
3. Tag the rest of the fools(3 in total).
4. Zoom in, don't shoot.
DRS window pops up.
6. Target 1: Headshot ~170m target.
7. Target 2: Headshot ~300m target.
8. Target 3: Identify ~400m target.
CALIBRATION window pops up.
10. Set your calibration to 400m.
11. Shoot Target 3.
12. Splash 4 more now.

If you miss a single step or try to do it early, then it won't let you advance.

It is very important that the training tabs/ tutorial windows pop up. It will make sure you're reading it. This "tabs reading/shooting" triggers your advancement. One has to act like a complete noob to get around this tutorial.

That means shoot 4 more fools, I suppose. Don't forget to tag.
