Cannot get the game to end

Have been playing (and enjoying) Potion Permit on Switch, but I just can't seem to hit the credits. Please can someone help me understand why?

I have:
- Level 3 friendships with everyone
- 91% trust rating
- Upgraded Lights, Bridge, Beach, Fountain
- Completed the Drake Aloe quest
- Upgraded Hearts & Sparks to max
- Upgraded Cauldron twice
- Upgraded Bulk and Build twice
- Upgraded all tools to max
- Upgraded House twice
- Upgraded Clinic three times.

I am at a loss what I am meant to doing. According to something I read online, shouldn't the quest to fix the town statue have triggered now? I literally have no story quests left to do, so all I am doing is healing people and doing the chores on the Town Hall noticeboard.

I notice that the final Victor quest to provide the Herbal Wax appears to have bugged and got stuck: I completed it (I have his photo in my album) but the game seems to think I still need to hand it in. I no longer have the recipe because it only comes up when you start the question, so I can't do anything to clear it. Not sure if this is related.

Are there credits? I assumed the game simply went on and on forever, with you collecting things and making potions until you died of old age -- in real life.

I've heard of credits, but also yet to see them.

I got the credits before I had completed all of the friendship quests or upgraded everything(but I had nearly everything). After the credits roll you can keep playing if you want.

the credits unlock when you get enough townspeople to love you (yellow smiley face).

Update: this was actually a bug on the Switch version, which is now patched :) I had maxxed everyone's friendships out and it still wouldn't trigger the last town upgrade - as soon as the patch hit, it triggered.
