Advanced fishing rod scene not triggering

I have got the bulletin board prompt to go to the park between 8am - 6pm but Leano does not appear and not cutscenes trigger. I'm quite stuck because I also chose to confess to Leano and she requires a better fishing rod...

Is it possible I have somehow soft locked the game wrt Leano?

P.S she is not sick and I've tried multiple days, different directions to try and trigger the scene in the park

I think around the same time I had a scene for hide and seek in the park. Not sure if that broke it.

2 days ahead and now I have completely lost the quest for the rod...?

After you land a fish, what does it say over your head? If it doesn't say "MAX", the event won't trigger, no matter what the Bulletin Board says.

How much fishing does this take? I've been fishing for over a week in-game time. 100+ fillets in my inventory, and I still get a single yellow + each time fishing.

I have this problem as well. I'll fish until I see "MAX" like Puchbol suggested, then report back

If you have the 2nd fishing rod and it says 'Advanced Rod' and tells you to go to the park, that is the quest for the 2nd rod reprompting (I'm having the same issue) I'm up to 2 + after catching a fish but do not have 'MAX' yet, still no 3rd rod quest, just the board telling me to do the 2nd rod even again which doesn't happen because I already have the 2nd rod. Hopefully once I get 'MAX' it will properly proc the 3rd rod scene.

I started getting two yellow ++ a while after I posted above that I was getting a single yellow + at the #2 pond. I'm hoping that it's progressing or if it is broken, that there will be a fix.

After level 2 (++) it took something between 50-60 fish to get to max.
The event in the park was for the 2nd fishing rod and I think the bug is that it still shows on the board.

Once fishing is maxed you have to go to the shop to trigger the event for the advanced fishing rod.

Yeah the fact that the event bulletin board vanished means that it was a bug. I fished alot more and finally got the REAL event to trigger.

I kinda wish we could see our fishing skill as a number. Like 27/500 fish to Max.
