The Grind
Although most games like this have some sort of resource management, it's not usually as extreme as it is in Potion Permit.

It's almost like they were worried the game would be short so added another couple of hundred to every number.

Although you should absolutely have to work for your rewards, this is time wasting and daft. Devs need to take 30% at least off all material requirements like gold, wood and stone.

Agreed. Unlocking the desert area was a real pain, and I don't even want to think about getting the final upgrade on the clinic (especially since the previous upgrades didn't seem worth it.)

100% agree as well. I haven't even gotten to unlock the desert because I got tired of doing pretty much nothing but grinding wood and rocks for everything...especially after upgrading all my tools.
It's also the reason I haven't played it for a couple days. I don't mind a "busy" grind like what many farming sim games do, but I do mind that a game called "Potion Permit" feels like it's more about gathering wood and rocks than doing things with potions.

That's a huge issue. The upgrades don't seem to help. Where's one that makes you need one less square per potion or something or allows you to move faster or brew potions you can use yourself for benefits?

You're not wrong. You spend so much time doing stuff the villagers should be able to do themselves and gathering resources that the "potion" part is an afterthought.

Why not change it so you can EITHER pay for an upgrade in gold, wood or stone, with the villagers providing the rest seeing as it's all in their benefit to do so.

You're meant to be a doctor, not an adventurer type. Why can't I hire one of these town bums like Zeke to go cut me wood or get me stone?

I don't mind the grinding in most games but it seems like the upgrades doesn't make much of a difference gameplay wise. However, most of my gameplay so far was just grinding for wood since I don't find an incentive to do other things around the town.

I couldn't agree more.

Or better yet, maybe make the blacksmith and the carpenter sell it in their shop so we don't have to waste our time grinding in the wild

And what's up with the achievements? Roll 1000 times or kill 1000 enemies? Half should've been enough... Those 10k stones though :winter2019sadyul:
