Keyboard and Mouse?

Why isn't there a keyboard and mouse option? I'm trying to like this game, but instead I'm slapping my keyboard trying to figure out which keys do what.

And it's very finicky when trying to rebind the controls. Half the keys are just ignored and it forgets some of the binds every time when restarted.
I had to ask for a refund a after half a hour of frustrating fighting with the control scheme, which is a pity.

How on earth do you sell a PC specific version of this and NOT have mouse and keyboard support set up? I'm so utterly disappointed in this.

:P pretty much the sole reason i dropped it, and surprisingly no one bring the problem up after all those close test they conducted. Or they choose to ignore it, either way i will hold it in library for some more time hopefully they will announce mouse control to be added.

I just bought the game cause I was so excited for it. I haven't even got past the opening screen cause I want to use the mouse so bad. It's really annoying

Saw someone play this on Twitch, it looked cute and I am a big fan of Stardew and Graveyard Keeper. Loaded up the demo and found that it defaulted to controller, and after smacking a few keys I finally got it to respond and make some selections, but no mouse apparently. Hard pass for me. If you are going to release a game on PC then it needs to work with standard PC controls - Mouse and Keyboard.

Uninstalling the Demo without going further and dropping it from my wish list. What a shame especially since from what I can see this issue was brought up to the devs during development and apparently ignored.

I am struggling so hard to figure out the keyboard bindings and i can't access the options to change the bindings. This game was gifted to me and I am so sad I cant even figure out how to play it

You would think that after a billion requests, the devs would at least respond and say they will look into it. For some odd reason, the devs completely ignore the community altogether.

personally, this was the deciding factor for me to not purchase the game.

OP here.
I've gotten a handle on some of the controls. WASD movement is easy enough.
"J" is the "Action, Select/Attack/Dialogue" button
"K" is the "Ok" button.. Instead of enter
"L" is the "Back" button.

So you're kinda playing with both hands on the keyboard. It's not terrible, but I still don't like it.

Holy crap! I just downloaded the demo and I'm certainly glad I did! The PC interface is so bad I uninstalled the demo after less than five minutes of gameplay. I've never seen a worse interface. I agree with the above poster that whomever did the keyboard interface has never played a PC game. I'll check back on occasion to see if they ever bother to update the interface to include the mouse or even acknowledge that users use a keyboard instead of a controller, I'll see about giving it another try. I'd really like to play this game, but there is no way I'm going to deal with it in this current incarnation.

Playing on a Laptop and I think the keyboard layout is perfect. Why would I want to use a mouse for this game? It works great without the need for a mouse.

Seems there are 2 camps in this discussion. The one's who are ok with 2-hands-on-the-keyboard config, and those who will only play with a K&M.
I'm fine with current keyboard config. Even if the game did support a mouse, you'd still be using both sides of the keyboard to assess all the commands
