Didn't like this about ROR2 either, enemies take too long to start actually racking up in numbers, so you're spending most of the first few minutes doing jack all.
Ok, I think yeah, RORR is definetly easyer than ROR1 played both on monsoon. The new teleporter mechanics make it sooo much easyer to conserve time + its only 90s. So thats why you dont get overwhelmed at 20 min, thats already fifth or fourth stage in RORR.
Tho you could get overpowered in ROR1 just as easily. Rng blesses you with 3 strong items at first stage, or you get a glowing meteorite.
RORR on monsoon could be a bit harder.
So in case I wanna play good old one-stage survival I have to make a whole loop to that stage again so it would become maybe slightly harder? Guess I should avoid picking red items too if I want to feel even a little bit of constant danger and tension the original game provided, right?
This game wasn't overcasualized when you can make it freaking harder than ever.
Also dont act like the original was perfect, being able to shoot and move with many more characters instead of just huntress is a godsend.
And also, yeah, you can just remove the modern features.
I don't know why you'd be hellbent on staying in the first stage though. Is it the change of scenery you don't like??
I can also put on a blindfold to increase the difficulty wow. The sliders absolutely doesn't solve the pathetic monster spawn problem and the horrible item drop rate.
And no, strafeshooting is a really useless addition for long-range chars other than Huntress.
+1, gonna wait for mods I guess.
Modern features don't really affect anything tho, maybe only the Teleporter one.
As for the level, it's just an example. If anything, I like sitting in the Frozen Tundra the best.
I havent played much of the newest update, but when i did play on monsoon, i was getting around 8 to 15 mobs sometimes by 1 minute. I dont remember having much more than that in the OG. Though then again, i do prefer playing on dry lake when starting a run, as its just an over all smaller map and thus objectively faster.
"WTF its too boring and easy how could this happen"
Lmao these are always the funniest posts. Maybe don't turn on a crutch artifact. or maybe don't sit in one spot and gind for 50 mintues. or maybe use one of the many many tools the game already gives you to make it harder. Just a thought.
Heres something else, you want more items? Try doing some challenges to increase that pool,. Alternate powers also help. I can't stand commandos original special, but the shotgun is a savior for stunning/dealing heavy damage to many stacked foes over the original which is just 6 direct shots with a small stun.
Funniest thing of all is, the game gives you more control over difficulty than ever, meaning when the game can be harder even played on classic, the whole point is moot.
Higher difficulty also means more insane spawns, this is how it always was.
Even in Risk of Rain 2 with the swarm artifact, having twice as many half HP foes would pressure you in the right way.
Try reading bro, you might find that useful.
