Game only gets super hard if you stall too much cuz enemy outscale you but yea no harm playing on Drizzle, I enjoy this game way more on Rainstorm myself I hate speedrunning
Fill out that item list, and get you a character that really jives with your jam. Pick up all the artifacts and get as much as you can. Only move up when youre comfortable with the game and got a good setup and feel for how things need to go.
Its a lot like FTL, most people start on easy mode and work their way up.
And dont you dare forget to experiment and play around with all the artifacts and items. Once you get used to them, youll be able to put together some really silly builds, and thats where the real fun begins. Nothing like building a run and then oneshotting Providence three times in a row post 80 minutes on monsoon.
Only one is a monsoon victory as mercenary.
I mean there is nothing wrong with playing Drizzle, but RoR2 is more forgiving since Eclipse is purely optional. I suppose you could cheese the hard stuff with 10% damage taken, but the Providence Trials actually require decent skill.
Played with a friend who never played RoR 1 and after a couple of runs they kept dying often they decided to turn on 50% damage reduction and had much better time overall. I wasn't left alone in most stages and they could actually fend off for themselves much easier. It's so nice I am actually glad they randomly thought of adding all these options.
There's one specific item (unfortunately, the best item) that requires beating the game on Monsoon difficulty as Mercenary.
