Will the remaster support Mac and Linux out of the box like the original game did?

For any M1 / M2 / M3 Mac users - Risk of Rain Returns runs really well when using the Game Porting Toolkit. For instructions on how to get GPTK up and running, there's instructions on AppleGamingWiki and I'm pretty sure Andrew Tsai also made a video or two about it.

I would like the option of purchasing a DRM-FREE version (like the one I currently have), but I also own RoR1 on Steam and RoR2 on Switch.

I play the original game at least 3 times a week... I am SOOOO looking forward to this.

It still really, really chaps my hide that Apple axed support for 32-bit applications. I still have an older laptop I can use, but I have this shiny new Studio that can't even play Portal (or Risk of Rain 1).

Gaming and MAC usually a worse idea. Apple only likes modern stuff and drops legacy stuff quickly compared to Windows, so game developers don’t like to rebuild game from scratch everytime when apple decides to drop legacy software. Especially for indie

I had Risk of Rain original on my mac and it was one of my favourite game, I'd love to be able to play this version on my new Mac M1
