Other than that, there are no real tips to playing the game as intended. Just pray to RNGsus and don't stick around too long in any level. It's all about getting lucky.
Best real advice is to learn your way around all the maps so you can plan a quick and efficient course to take you through most of where the treasures will spawn on the way to the gate.
i tend to finish holy tower (?) around 30-45 min.
speed infusion armor healing
If you're playing with Command, I'd universally prioritize:
Red whip. Like, ASAP. It'll cut the time you spend looking for the teleporter and chests in half, which will let you collect way more items before the game gets hard.
Infusion. Extremely valuable when looping as the common mobs will skyrocket your HP.
Hopoo feather. Having a second/third jump is invaluable for buying time for skill cooldown
and dodging attacks (especially from Bighorn Bison, Greater Wisps, and Scavengers when they start appearing in droves),
Prophet's cape. This will spare you from a LOT of damage and will often absorb fall damage or costly HP shrines.
Arcane blades. Movement speed after the teleporter event starts is extremely important. Have you ever tried fighting a horde of overloading Magma Worms or Cremators or frenzied Evolved Lemurians at vanilla footspeed? It sucks and then you die.
Topaz brooch. You will be killing mobs regularly, meaning this will give you a huge shield.
As far as equipment goes, a combo I like is the umbrella + meteorite. Since the meteors disproportionately target YOU over any individual enemy, standing right on top of a horde of bosses and using it while invincible can potentially obliterate them all in one use.
Those are some basic recommendations. Priority of other items depends on what character you play, but soldier's syringe is usually a staple for most. One-hit whammy characters like the Sniper appreciate crowbars more.
As far as when you should activate the teleporter, that seems mixed depending on whom you ask. In the early game, I don't like activating it before I've purchased 2-3 items/drones as you risk not having enough enemies to kill to afford much, but after that, I'm usually very focused on finding and activating it immediately, then backtracking/pushing forward as needed. Nothing sucks quite like finishing the teleporter event early and then finding nothing but stubborn shrines.
Most consistent way that doesn't require the artifact of Command is to use the artifact of Prestige. What it does is cause at least one shrine of the mountain to spawn every stage and they carry over between stages. If you survive the first few you'll very quickly be racking up an insane amount of items and likely cause your game to crash
Do you mean to hit one, and get 2x the items from the bosses for the whole run? Or keep hitting them each stage? Surely the boss scaling from 1 shrine per stage is way too insane, I don't think the items can compensate.
Prestige will keep the number of activated Mountain Shrines between stages instead of resetting. With 1 guaranteed Shrine and the chance for a couple random ones, this will quickly result in 10-20 bosses (all likely elite) and therefore 10-20 items. With enough of the right items you won't have to worry about what spawns or how many because you can either kill it quickly, out heal it, or out run it. You can continue to activate more Shrines to get more items.
I'd recommend stopping around 20 Shrines and definitely stop at 30. Around there it started to spawn well over 50 elite bosses. It eventually spawned 90+ Overloading Magma Worms, which, due to the number sparks, flames, and body segments they make, made my game run at 10 seconds per frame (not 10 frames per second). This can easily crash the game if you aren't mindful.
