Is there a way to pause the timer in this one? I hate timers.
"Not the game for you" "core part of game" "get over it" etc yes I've heard it all. I have asked for every risk of rain. Can you not have a timer in this one? Timers stress me out a lot. I don't like them.

There isnt a way to outright stop the timer or remove it, however you can play with the artifact of sacrifice enabled. Without sacrifice on, the stress and pressure of the timer is enforced by needing to as efficiently as possible loot the stage of its chests, and go to the next stage, otherwise the enemies would get too strong for you. Sacrifice makes it so there are no chests, but instead the enemies have a chance of dropping items. This means that if you want to stay on the first stage for, lets say 5 hours... You can, and you wont fall behind. Or you can blast through the stages as fast as you can. There is no time stress with sacrifice enabled.

I mean outside of just outright ignoring it and doing whatever pace you want to, it's literally the driving force of challenge in the game. There's no way to remove the time-based scaling without reconstructing the foundation of the game's difficulty as a roguelike.

I don't think the devs are ever going to rebalance the entire game or a side mode just for an any-pace setting. If you want the easiest of it just run on Drizzle and ignore the timer, you don't have to think about it much at all on there outside of keeping the teleporter's charge time in mind.

there is no way to stop the timer, but the game would become too easy without it

play on drizzle. if that isn't enough then scale the damage received down to a level youre comfortable with. drizzle alone makes the timer practically moot and you can play the game at your own pace. but no, you cannot remove the timer from your screen. every steam game has a "timer" anyway if you shift+tab and look at the top left so, idk why you're tweaking

in Risk of Rain 2, there is a gamemode called Simulacrum that removes the timer in favor of waves. I think thats the best youre going to get. Other than that, i mean theres no point repeating all the things youve heard, but if youve heard them all then why bother continuing to ask? Thats like going into Call of Duty and asking for no pvp because it stresses you out. its a core part of the game. And appropriately so in my example there is Call of Duty Zombies which is cooperative! So i would just play simulacrum I think youd have more fun than beating your fist against the brick wall that is trying to remove a main mechanic of this game. Cheers and hope you can enjoy this game for what it is
