Report a translation problem
I got the impression they were male and that'd make more real-world sense but I'm just sticking with "it doesn't matter" and that the Loader represents just a working class person. While the log entry does imply they might not be a typical strong man and are something else it also just reads like "there are many people like this, we will not acknowledge their individuality" from the log.
Then again, does it really not say "Rebuild his life"? Does it say "Rebuild their life?" "Rebuild her life"? I beat the game in both original RoR and RoRR and my head thinks it said "His".
On topic, the loader is male in the first game and still male in the remake.
There's also the Drifter who is female in the character name and tips, but as male in the logbook.
And Sniper has a non-binary pronoun according to the ending sentence.
I had assumed it was a translation issue, since everything is gendered in french, different people might have gendered things differently by accident (or on purpose, since the non binary sniper ?).
Honestly I don't care if a character is male, female or anything, especially since it has no impact on the game, and they are 4 pixels tall. But I hate the lack of consistency.
So it can be a male LOADER on the UES Contact Light (RoR1/Returns) and a female LOADER on the UES Safe Travel (RoR2).
Same goes for Commando / Sniper (and others) I think. unless it's specified : Artificer, Drifter, Huntress and RailGunner (RoR2) are women.
Loader: I am a villain.
Me: What gender are you?
Loader: Evil.
Me: Yeah, but what's in your pants?
Loader: Doom.
