Bring back my engineer
Hes basically the same except multiple things have changes to make him impossible to play the way i used to.
First of Fungus no longer works while in combat so his sentry's aren't able to help you the same anymore.
Second his Missile ability has a quarter the range it used to have.
They used to act like the missiles you get when you use the disposable missile launcher.
Had near but not the same range.
..... That's pretty much it but still...... i miss my boy looool... i used to be able to practically sit still and be able to shred.

fungus never worked in combat, and his sentries never were able to use items before.

What you mean ''fungus never worked in combat''? They worked in combat in ror 1 and ror 2 as long as you stay still when shooting/using abilities.
Also as a engi main in ror1 and 2 i feel like the quequeing/reaction time of the missile ability/mines ability is messed up, if you shoot/move the game struggle to register the imputs, could be my trash keyboard but i dont feel this in original ror or ror 2

Fungus defo never worked in combat in ror1, just booted it up to check and it doesn't proc unless you're both standing still and not taking any actions

They prolly changed missile because sitting with enemies right on the edge of the screen and bombarding them with a free atg cycling on a 5sec cd kinda took all the fun out of the gameplay lol, engi was famous for cheesing fights in 1 just by standing still and they likely didn't want a repeat of that

They reduced the hitstun on his nades too, and the default bounding mine stack is down to 10 from 15, presumably all nerfed for the same reason - to make his approach to combat way less passive

Skill queuing does feel less responsive here tho for some reason, agree on that

Yeah, and they also made enemies climb so you can't just sit on a rope and spam mines at a horde of enemies anymore. Hopoo is really going out of their way to nerf my boy Engineer in particular this game, but I suppose that's to balance out Engineer's turrets having items now.

To be fair it's not all bad though. You can still move while firing harpoon missiles by jumping, and Timekeepers Secret is busted with the new turrets. Alt Engineer is also pretty good, and I love the new giant laser.

Oh no the class requires you to actually play now, totally ruined!

Agree with your statement, fungus didn't really work like it works in ROR2 but changing missile harpoons is so disappointing. It doesn't even regester enemies right below you, so stupid.

right. i get that the poons needed a nerf from the first one but them not going for things that are barely below you is kinda crap

Ror2 spoiled the engi players

Engie is definitely better than he was in the original RoR, but he certainly can't bungus build like in 2. I'm finding that a bungus or two does help, but nothing is keeping them at a constant uptime. Leeching seeds and Time Keeper's Secrets seem like pretty juicy engie items as far as I can tell.

I wanted to say this somewhere, so I'll say it here. Engineer mains, pick up fireshield and Sprouting Egg. Sprouting egg might not be useful later on if you don't have your turret able to sustain keeping enemies back so you might want ATGs and Boxing Glove as well for greens.

Fireshield makes things explode if they take high damage, shoving enemies back a good distance, and sprouting egg doesn't care if you're fighting, just so that you're not taking damage, making it really good. It scales... medicorely and it only triggers a while after taking damage but thats what Fireshield is suppose to help with.
As for you prototype turret users, I don't know about keeping it up indefiintely still yet, but I did notice that scarf lets it 'evade' the damage its dealing to itself seemingly, maybe enough scarfs and some luck and you'll have a turret able to beam for a half minute at least!
