How to actually use the keyboard?

The game stops me from using the keyboard while the controller is connected. And before you tell me to switch it off - no, i'm not going to unplug a $800 piece of hardware every time i want to play RoR. we already have customize controls menu, can we have it actually working?

RoR had this problem with controllers since RoR2 released. If you have a flight stick connected - you can't use the keyboard. Last time the devs said that it was too much of a burden to fix, but this time they knew that this would be an issue. i'm curious if they've deliberately repeated their ♥♥♥♥♥♥, or if there's a menu option I don't see

Oh okay; well I have a crappy controller that barely registers any input but I'm able to play RoRR on my keyboard without a problem so hopefully another person can help you

I hope so too, wouldn't want to refund the game for such a stupid reason. no keyboard support is a dealbreaker

Why not disable the controller in device manager/settings if you dont wanna unplug it? and then re-enable it afterwards.

why not let us just remap the controls in-game? how many hoops do i need to jump through just to use my keyboard? yes, I can run a software that isolates controller inputs, or disable the controller in the device manager, or unplug it, or play on another machine, but that doesn't answer the question: why should I? why can't we use the function *that's already in the game* to fix such a minor problem?
