[CRASH] Blue Screen of Death

I've been getting BSOD every once in awhile while playing. It's been happening ever since I got this game and it only happens when playing this game. It happens quite frequently and I don't know why its happening. My CPU and GPU look normal while playing.

i also randomly had a BSOD after playing this. Doing a cold boot to my pc seemed to fix it tho. edit: also i had some graphic card drivers updated.

What kind of errors are you getting? Anything showing up in the Event Viewer around the time of the BSOD?

do any of you remember what items you had or what character you were playing? even the stage you were on would help a lot. i have a few ideas of what could be causing it but i can't say for sure. whatever it is, it seems to be a memory leak issue which is why your cpu and gpu are unaffected.

I've had this issue too, I have a thread on the official discord discussing it, as nothing has fixed it so far. /sfc fixed some files but didn't solve the BSOD. Still looking for an answer, but glad it's not just me.

It seems the game is unique to trigger a weird bug of nvidia driver. No one reports an entire PC crash problem from intel internal graphics or AMD. When crash to desktop points to the problem with game, but entire PC crash points to the problem with hardware (that unlikely with such game) or driver (most likely). So don't underestimate the power of pixels art games.

If you can, try to play on internal graphics. Just to be sure that problem with nvidia.

It may show a suspected driver (as filename) that possibly caused the crash.

Game triggers TDR crash (long graphics calculation and driver don’t respond, don’t ask why pixel art produces "long graphics calculation" I don't know), then Windows restart NVIDIA driver, NVIDIA can’t handle driver restart and you got a BSOD.
May be caused by borderless mode of fullscreen. In the game options in fullscreen mode choose “… (exclusive)” mode to use old school fullscreen mode, where alt+tab fully minimize a game.
