Hardlight Afterburner question/complaint

I am very happy with the game overall so far except from one thing that really annoys me:
When having multiple charges of a utility-skill I often accidentally double cast it. There should either be a way to increase the duration of the input before it triggers the second activation or an option to disable this alltogether, so that I have to press the button twice to actually have two activations. Ideally this could be adjusted for all abilities separately considering back-up mag might be affected, too
