Mod Support ? Plans for Future content ?
Wondering if this game is a reasonable purchase as in being able to play this game almost indefinitely by knowing there will be future plans for new content to be added to the game and also community mod support.

If these two questions are both yes, then this game is absolutely insane and for the price.

OR, is this simply just a new revamped remastered game to give something special to the fans and celebrate the game.

workshop implementation is planned at the moment, but i'd rather it go the route of rainfusion2 and not have to subscribe to whatever gearcox EULA may be attached.

Yeah.. nope. The developers decided to compile their game with YYC, which essentially makes modding the game EXTREMELY difficult. There's YYToolkit (https://github.com/Archie-osu/YYToolkit) for now, but the game's source code will need to be decompiled first before it is actually able to be worked with. The devs will essentially need to create their own modding tools/API for a modding scene to be viable, otherwise the barrier to entry is currently way too high.

that difficulty aint an issue... it'd a challenge. For example, modding commu ities in other games created entiurely new unity based implementations of the games (Daggerfall unity), or created entirely new stories and worlds etc (Enderal and Nehrim), and are working tirelessly on recreating oblivion in skyrim, from scratch. Difficult modding NEVER stops modding as long as it is possible at all. it simply slows the mod scene down a bit.

If no community mods in the future im going to do the illegal move to this game. The indie game forbidden move.

it was announced back before the game came out, sometime when the Facts shorts thing was being produced. don't have the screenshot on me unfortunately.

I really thought they were gonna fire and forget this game. Doubt it'l get any major content patches but its nice that they're seemingly planning on supporting it for a couple months at least. For those of you worried about Gearbox.. Don't forget this is basically Hopoos last shot in the IP, its very likely whatever comes will be exclusively what they want to do with it. Pretty sure RoRR came about because Hopoo wanted to refresh the original risk of rain for all the OG players who still love the game.

correct me if i'm wrong; i'm pretty sure paul carried this project - and did a majority of the programming work on RoR1 aswell.

The funniest thing I've ever heard. It's like someone claiming that mod authors can make StarField better. Mod authors aren't hired; they do it out of passion. When something is so challenging that it's beyond what most people can accept, most will give up. Decompiling from machine code is one of those things. If you don't understand computers and think it's not a big deal, that's perfectly normal.

I mean if you have zero idea about what some nutjob mod author might be willing to do, that's perfectly normal aswell. I said my part, and you said yours. Plus the devs have already mentioned mod support is planned, so quit your BS.
