I wish there was a neutral rating you could give a game because I did actually have quiet a bit of fun playing, and ran into no issues like glitches.
The graphics, characters, music, vibe, and gameplay were all fantastic, and last I checked the devs are even planting a tree for every copy sold. I've been hyped for this game for weeks and it lived up to my every expectation...
That said, the game is super short for the price. Like insanely short for the price. Even taking my time to meander around and talk to NPC's, I finished the game and found every animal in just over 4 hours. That's a really short play time for a $15 game.
I know that seems like a petty thing to give a game a bad review for, and like I said, I wish there was a neutral rating because I don't at all think the game was bad, I just think that for the average consumer, it's a lot of money for a very short experience.
I would absolutely say "get this game" to anyone with unlimited money, but I know that when I buy a new game it's always a tough choice because there's so many games and so little $$$, so considering the length of the game, I urge everyone to think long and hard about this particular purchase, because it's a fantastic experience, but a very short one.

WAIT FOR SALE: While this could be considered a kid's game, I enjoyed my 3.5 hours with it very much. The art and music are fantastic (although 90% has no music...more on that later). Helping people and animals is fun and feels good. It was a great break from the action games I've been into lately.

Price is too high. It is a ~3 hr mobile game ported to PC with no optimization...and it costs 17$.

There is SUCH great music but you only hear it for like 10 seconds at a time between days or tasks?! I understand listening for birds to take pics of is a big part of the game but it feels so empty after about an hour. I don't need to listen to bird calls after I have scanned all of the birds. Only towards the end of the game, where they pushing you to finish the story do you actually have ambient music...I'm not kidding. I wanna hear that great music and check out the island from the start!

If this game was $5 I would suggest it to most people. At this price you would have to buy it for your kid or to play with them.

Its a fun game don't get me wrong I did enjoy playing it BUT I can't recommend this game at its full price.
It takes 2-3 hours to finish.
Has no replayability.
Once the story is over its just kind of over.
Its been two years since available.
Its just not worth 15$

I liked the concept of the game with the wildlife reservation and all, what a great cause! But for the price I was expecting a bit more than 5 hours worth of game play and in that sense the game was highly disappointing.

Games like this make me wish there was an "Eh..." button beneath "Do you recommend this game?" Clicking No seems a bit harsh, because it was a very cute game with a decent enough concept, but I can't honestly say I would recommend this game overall - and especially not at the retail price of $16.99.

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is a game with a great message, but it suffers from some problems that—to me, anyway—really detracted from the experience. First, I'll start with a nitpick: You can invert the in-game camera, but you can't invert the in-game *literal camera*. This means that while navigating the island, getting Alba from Point A to Point B feels just fine, but the moment you have to stop to snap a photo the inverted vertical camera controls disappear. Pair this with the fact that when you have your camera out you can't move Alba, and the result is a bit of a chore.

Second is the gameplay itself, which is entirely devoid of challenge to the point that I would consider this to be a children's game. There's nothing inherently wrong with this, of course, and being a huge fan of walking simulators I normally don't mind the lack of challenge, but I found myself a bit bored while playing this. What's that? An animal in distress? Go up to it and press the X button. Litter on the ground? Go up to it and press the X button. Birdhouse needs repaired? X button. I would never expect a a game about conserving wildlife to be difficult, but I do expect more complexity and variety than this.

The achievements are in a similar boat: if you complete the game, you will obtain 100% of achievements.

And see, we're already at a point where my clicking the No button to "Do you recommend this game?" is problematic, because if you're looking for an ultra-mega-casual game then I could, potentially, recommend this game. But this leads to the third point...

It is incredibly short, and the amount of content, along with the feeling I'm left with after having completed it does not, in my opinion, justify the retail $16.99 price point. I took my time and finished it in 2.6 hours, and while I didn't capture a photo of every in-game critter, I did capture most of them. That said, I don't feel at all compelled to hop back in and complete the collection, because 1) the lack of inverted camera controls makes capturing photos feel so awkward, and 2) it just isn't all that fun to play.

Dont get me wrong i enjoyed the game, just sucks that steam doesn't give you an option of a neutral review

Its amazing to play, looks nice and comes with the bonus of promoting care for the environment (as well as every copy planting a tree!, cool right?). It teaches you not only facts about the animals you find but also the damage some human inventions have on the environment and creature surrounding it. It does this by having you do small tasks like fixing a bird house, picking up rubbish and cleaning up toxic chemicals from animals habitats. But that's where the issue comes in.

These small tasks as the game play gets repetitive quickly. You see an animal? take its pictures with x. You see some rubbish or spilled chemical? clean it up with x. Its not exactly a game id expect to be difficult where there's combos to learn, or interactive building, but after a while it does get a little boring and doesn't make you want to come back once you've completed it. Dont worry about that too much tho! the game only lasts about 3 hours so its over pretty quickly. Which is why i cant recommend the game, not at its full price anyway, Wait until its on offer/sale to buy so that the short time it takes to play is worth the price you pay.

Feel like the pace of the game is somewhat wrong... Present itself as a casual open world game, but limit your ability to explore from the start, instead it force you to complete main quests in order to gain new ability to open up and explore more. I don't know, I just don't like it. I don't like that I feel dump wasting my time running around the island since day one trying to complete the pokedex, just to find out later that it is impossible. And the given quest will ask you to run around the island anyway. :(

Short, but sweet game. I really enjoyed the art style and music. No voice acting, but it doesn't seem needed. Although I enjoyed it, I would not pick it up for $16.99 (what is currently normal price). Enjoyable, but at just over three hours, the price is not justified.

Honestly, this is such a cute and fun game and Alba is so cute and it feels great helping nature in the game. Sadly, there are known issues in the game and I cannot believe that the developers did not do anything to fix the bug. Example of this is the saved game date loss and when you create a new game you will get stuck and nothing happens. This issue has been going on as far as 2020 and it is now 2025 and new players still experience this.

Maybe if all the previous/existing bugs are solved, a lot of people will play this game again.
