Cannot scan animals at all, save for flying birds
Could not get past the tutorial where you must scan birds on a feeder.
I copied the savegame from other computers on which the game is running fine in order to get past this point.
I discovered that there is no issue with scanning any flying bird.

Videocards used (but I don't think they are the cause of the issue, since some birds can be scanned nonetheless):
computer having the issue: Geforce 9600 GT 512MB
computers with no issue: Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, Geforce GT 620 1GB

Here is a screenshot showing the issue:

Same problem, game is (for now) unusable :( Can't get through the tutorial. I have found out that I can only shoot flying birds. From the house you can only make a picture of 1 bird (white pigeon) near the gate just as it starts flying (before that, it is sitting still and is not recognized by the camera). A different bird behind the gate can be shot at one short moment, when it is barely near enough to be recognized (otherwise it will be shown as "too small" whichl means it is recognized by the game as being in your "shot-window" even when far away and being very small).
What I tried to solve this:
Using different settings, including setting everything to minimal settings and everything to maximal settings as well as using a second monitor and small screensize. Booting the game after every change also didn't do anything. I also started a new game, didn't change anything. Zooming in/our with the camera was also not the problem. Somehow only flying birds get recognized. The birds in the tree aren't flying, thus the tutorial cannot be completed :( The same bird type is also on the upper terrace, but it is only hopping around, thus it is not recognized by the camera, no matter the camera-angle, distance, camera-zoom or where the bird is on the terrace. I also tried different camera-angles to shoot the 3 birds on the tree, including trying to shoot them from the terrace above. Didn't work.
Conclusion:
The bug has nothing to do with the settings. Recognizing birds only works when they fly or start flying.

By the way: I also sometimes have a strange error where the camera-window is blurred but the "outer part" of the game screen is completely normal (unblurred). I did not figure out what caused this. Changing the settings multiple times in combination with changing the save file and restarting the game solved this issue after a while.

I'm having the same issue. I managed to fix the out of focus problem by fiddling with settings/restarting, etc, but still unable to scan the birds on the feeder even though the app recognises flying birds in the distance even if they're too far away to scan. I've checked my system requirements as well but can't see anything glaring that should cause this issue, especially if the game is running fine apart from this issue...

Well at least I got to play the gme normally by using a second PC but not many people have 2 machines, so I hope the developers fix this bug...

I am facing this problem as well! It's very frustrating. Did you by any chance find any workaround?

I did manage to scan the bird and continue but I can't remember anymore how I did it. I know it took me a lot of time, I tried out a lot of different settings(+restarts) and I restarted the game from the beginning. But I can't remember which of these things solves the issue, I'm sorry :/
