Report a translation problem
If you want to add them manually, there is the portrait tool on the start menu. It is tedious though as you have to crop each picture 5 different ways and times. Be sure to select "Activate Transparency" as this is what makes the character's face and body appear without the background.
After the update, I will upload a file that additionally assigns most of the portraits to existing officers. I plan to upload the big update on 3/1. There have been partial ones since. Hope that helps.
I believe the Taishi PicTool worked to get the ones from that game so they could be added to Shinsei. For the portraits collection, they come from earlier games, games not released in English, special releases, and work of some artists as well as indiviudals who can make NA16 portraits out of raw material KOEI has posted.
The portraits update is uploading right now and I'll post the link here when it finishes.
It's almost finished uploading and should be complete by the time most people click the link.
