whats strong with Chosokabe clan/fraction?
he has 3 powerful children just like Mori. and theres like 3 nice generals u can get from ur west, northwest and north castle. once u fully take over shikoku island , u can convert Ukita Naoie and probably he will come with his castle and brother as well. all u have to do is promise the castle belong to him for 20 years XD



1st high rank son could single handly develop 7 districts if u are short on hands, but we can leave that to later since u have way more man power than castles XD

2nd son has rider trait that u can give him a castle with horse farm

3rd son is okay with fairly smart brain and his adoptive father will boost his INT and ninja ability. and you have few more officer with INT related trait that will work well with him. his ur main butter

location: Tosa island is urs to grab, but its tricky, Otomo clan on ur left might attack u if u expand to NW too quickly, and Myoshi clan on ur right might attack u if u border with them.
so what do u do? u take bottom left castle, and use ur north and east neighbours to train ur 2nd 3rd son and generals.

when do u expand to ur 3rd castle?
wait for oppotunity, when theres a natural disaster like typhoon /flood/famine etc happening in otomo/myoshi region, or when they r busy fighting war with other clan. use that window to take down ur weak neighbour and start building defensive building asap. throw ur 2nd and or 3rd son in there to get it developed .

the downside for chosokabe is ur startout commerce earning is weak.
thats why when u start out, use all ur money to develop commerce district / buildings /port
same to ur west castle, use the first 2 slots to build commerce building it should get u around 1k earning by the time u get 3 commerce buildings


bonus: once u border with ottomo/myoshi. use ur 3rd ninja son(super high success rate) to burn their castles. they go no where without food. 1 less castle to fight. historically chosokabe expand out really late. something like year 1570+. but u are in control. if u expand out too late, myoshi will kill shogun and take kyoto and his officers become really powerful. if u have no faith in dealing with myoshi early game, try to expand westward . ottomo is really weak when they start bordering ryzoji and shimatsu.

how do u train ur 2nd 3rd son on ur neighbours?

let ur 2nd son charge in from mid and draw it back to ur camp

let ur 3rd son take advantage points to the side before attacking opponent's camp

u wait behind bush , once enemy chased ur son to ur camp, u sneak behind their army and rush into their camp from mid road.

ur 2nd son could turn around use side road to flank their camp by now.

with their camp attacked from all sides its going down super fast, it might only cost u 200 soldiers per run.

bonus tip, if u send all 3 troops to ur neighbour they might not come out,
just send ur 2nd son with small 700-1000peasants over, and once they engaged, immediately call ur 3rd son and urself out, u can enter 會戰battle right away with in 2 districts distant. both of ur weak neighbour's district is exactly 2 districts away.
and dont take their district after battle, let them recover to fight another day

just incase u wonder why myoshi doesnt attack ur neighbours, idk , i guess their wall is fully intacted ? who cares, free exp for ur children~
(dont breech ur neighbours wall, or burn their food, otherwise they wont come out to say hi)
use all that money to develop ur two castles and wait for oppotunity

shogun (federal government) will send someone to collect "500 tax dolla" every few months, so dont spend all,

save 1-2k gold in hand to bribe him. they will give u a tittle/job in the federal office XD thats gonna give u 60 fame points for high tier policy.

since myoshi wont attack u or ur neighbours, u dont need to rush to get larger village peasant soldiers too early. save the money for the bribery （and old lord will trigger death event in 1560 june if u dont take northern castle which is good, since it call ur elder son back to home castle and u can now pass that almost fully developed castle to ur 2nd son. and only pay that 500 bribery money around 1559 april oct, 1560 april oct, which will get ur elder son a tittle in the shogun's office. if u pay 500g too early, old lord will take that tittle to the grave.）

before expanding to ur 3rd castle, heres what u need to know

the old lord will die sometime after year 1560+

i already trained his 2nd and 3rd son to 部將 rank(able to develop 3 districts by himself)

elder son who spend 3 years developing western castle has paid off.

its 1559 aug, already making close to 2k gold (0 policy atm)

once old lord dies, elder son will come back to home castle to lead the clan. or u can resign and pass the job before 1560. XD

continue to develop u can make 2k+ gold and two super strong castles.

the castle building is not final, its only there to make some quick cash, ima gonna replace them with soldiers and provision buildings once i am ready to face otomo and myoshi (since otomo doesn have enough provision to travel this far to reach western castle, u can actually build all 6 commerce building for money early game, i wasnt sure if otomo are gonna attack until now i learned its too far for them.)

*bonus here, after i rerolled few run, otomo sometimes do send 3 troops over to attack me after taking western castle. so u might have to let ur army sit on castle for 10days on that emergency castle repair and be sure ur home castle has tons provision for possible 2n battle ()

while continue to develop/wait for old lord to die, save some money for some nice book/weapon/horse

your son need them for better performance, 90+stat is really what makes them godly

especially 3rd ninja son, give him a +3 Int book and let his adoptive father assist him to manage the castle, he will get exactly 90 INT that give u extra boost when breeching walls / burn provisions / cause peasant uprising

bonus tip; castle lord with less than 70 int might cause border conflict with others (need to spend money to get rid of this debuff, otherwise the castle lord will run toward enemy uncontrollable ) ur best general 福島清政 Fukudome Chikamasa has 71lead 86str 66int。 after some test, it seems it might be personal stat has to be above 70. the castle stat 70 doesnt stop this from happening.
anyway u can always give him the nothern castle right next ur home castle, later it become backline castle which will stop this money costing event from appearing. give surrounding castle to castle lords with 70+ int

chosokabe's clan specialty is faster militarization for battle, and clan trait of spending 30day provision for +5 troop quality.

so every small castle with 3 or 4 building slots will require u to have 2 buildings that buff provision+15 or +20days. and the remaining slot should be natural disaster mitigation building and extra food storage. larger castle u can build other building like commerce, extra troop size, and or horse farm

kiyoharu zosan or takayori are ur best character to use on domestic affairs (spend 1000gold to boost town's commerce income, and castle buildings)
