especially with this slow research (+2points per day) and i cannot aford to build more research buildings becouse my people are dying now and than and some jobs are already empty.
I like the way it works right now. Exploring is a big part of the game, keep to your strength. It's also way more realistic. If I play for lets say 200 ingame days, I'm way more likely to find other survivours than giving birth to new members.
I agree with Chiefson, the key is to invenst in Pathfinder expeditions. Exploring the area will quickly provide more people and more of those star-items that will boost your tech tree.
You don't need to keep the herb picker running all the time using a flag has been enough herbs to keep medicine up most of the time. Also you can remove people from the scrap collector and use flags to collect it around the map. Some micro-managing is needed when you are low on pop. Often you can turn off the carpenter or logger. Reduce the kitchen to 1 person if there isn't a surplus of germy food.
Besides I love how people are right now. They are by far the most valuable resource. Loosing a member of your community hurts.
Every building and every expansion must be considered carefully, Most of my buildings only have one person in them, barely scraping for equilibrium.
There is no room for excess and I like that.
