Controller has been very hard to add and sadly had to be put back in development. It requires a lot more than originally thought but it is certainly always kept in mind :)

it needs to be your first priority, not "back in development". I only bought thus because you said you were adding it; i have terrible hand and shoulder injuries and can only use a controller

Thanks. This thread saved me $15
No controller, not making it #1 priority is a "don't support those devs" message to me.

yea, like the others no controller = dont waste my time. it would be one thing for a rts game or something, but definitely not a game that involves moving around a world.

The game needs controller support.
There is no "back in development", you simply add controller support.
If you're unfamiliar with the mechanics of it, then it becomes a learning curve.
The good news is the game is in "early access" - the perfect time to implement that change.
Welcome to the happy world of game development. :steamhappy:

Yes, this is the type of game we want to play on our couch, with a controller. I'm very disapointed and won't play it untill controller support is implemented.

I know this is floating around out there in at least a half-dozen threads...

But STEAM provides controller support. Turn on your controller and give it a try.

Most recent discussion was in this thread I believe if you would like more details:

They're still going to complain.

There have been programs around for years that allow you to use a controller with any game and configure it nearly anyway you want but people won't make the effort to learn how to use them.

That's always been the biggest perk of being a PC gamer....if you don't like what the developers have provided then you fix it yourself.

It's not the same as native support

Glass half-full or half-empty? One can look for a reason to NOT play the game, or find a way to enjoy it.

I remember seeing a "WASD" controller configuration in Steam once so I decided I would try to see if I could make a controller work. Totally surprised when I turned it on and it just worked without doing anything. I remapped a few buttons and did some tweaks and I love it.

Now I'm really enjoying a game that I almost passed on because of all the negative comments about the lack of controller support.

Play long enough and you get used to not having a controller.

It's better than native controller support.

The only time I'll use a controller is on console ports that were designed around using one. A large number of those don't allow you to re-map which I can easily do with 3rd party options so I can use a set up I'm comfortable with.

I always find it strange the number of people gaming on a PC that have never modded a game, used CE, etc and complain about not being able to use a controller so they can play from their couch....you have a better option, it's called a console.

Learn how to use hotkeys and macros for games that don't support them, you'll the see the advantages to kb/mouse and never want to touch a controller again.

That's the same level of fascism mentally as saying "eat cat food for long enough and you'll get used to it"

i dont want to eat cat food, Ergo i dont want to use keyboard for this game

I don't get the hate coming from playerbase on this issue. I mean the dev said they are gonna add it so clearly they know its needed. It's like most things, dont use it if you dont like it? Noone gaf if you're a keyboard warrior or a controller jockey.

I do get frustration it still is not in game yet since it was promised long ago of course.
