How do you beat the void eater boss in the emei dungeon

I feel like I'm having a fever dream... Have been fighting it for a whole hour, confused as to how it is not dying. I decided to record my screen and watch it back while in pause. Lo and behold the void eater can just decide to heal 800 HP by killing a spider whenever it wants to. How on earth are you supposed to combat this? I try targeting the baby spiders as soon as he spawns them, but they come out so fast that the void eater is always gonna find a way to heal. Am I missing something here?? If not, is there an enchantment, build or strategy that anyone would recommend? This is seriously tilting me

Surely the answer isn't that you just have to kill it faster than it can heal? Sometimes it is healing twice in 20 seconds, I don't see how its possible

Finally killed it. For anyone reading this in future who is as lost as I was, here's my solution: Explorers hat & satchel, knights greaves and bracers, all 4 enchanted with lightweight. This allows you to spam rolls around the map and gives a lot more versatility with the way you can attack. I then used the damascus sword as my main weapon, enchanted with fleeting & electric, and switched in the damascus glaive (enchanted with fleeting & ignite) at intervals to ensure the boss & its babies were always on fire. Lastly, make sure you have a strong source of food for healing in your hotbar, and a lot of it (I took 50 meat pies, and used about 20). Once I had this build and was familiar with this type of fast roll combat, it wasn't actually too hard to beat it - just had to spam damage quicker than it healed. I definitely feel the +600 HP healing ability the spider has needs to be nerfed though

Omg, I just created a discussion about how to kill it. I have the same problem. I tried not to use the shield so I can roll more often, but it's still not enough. Seriously that this roll spam strategy is the only way? Sounds so boring and sad that i'll have to farm a lot of resources just to do this build. There's must be another way. There must be another way, it was puzzling to me how I saw quite literally no discussion about it before my post! If you find a better way I'd love to know. If you don't, at least my method is a boring, but proven way to get it done...

Before I wrote you, I saw a video on Youtube and the guy just went to Esc > World Settings > Custom and set player damage to max and enemy damage and hp to min. I just didn't want to do this, but I didn't find no discussion about other way besides this and your strategy too. I just spent the last couple hours trying to kill it again till it dropped to almost 2% health and healed up to almost 100%. After that, I just did the youtube guy strategy and killed it. This freaking boss doesn't worth the time and stress. They must fix this. I know it sounds like me crying, but believe me, I love challenging games, but this boss is just bullsheet. Anyway, thank you.

Totally, it was such a joke of a boss. Completely out of place compared to the difficulty of the rest of the game. Would've been totally fine if it just didn't have the healing ability
