Tree regrowing Bug

I cut a tree, I sprinkle water on the stump, sapling grows, hell, a whole tree grows instantly.

I come back some time later, and find a stump. The whole regrowing is not lasting.

I've seen the same thing. It most often changes back to stumps when the chunk reloads after a death/respawn or I load the game from a save. It's also most noticeable at those times, since I'm spawning at my home, which is where I've chopped the most trees. :P
