Without the shield bug I'm not sure I ever want to even attempt that fire trap again, ugh.
Fire trap isnt too bad. Jump+Q and you can get through it with min damage or run like hell after hitting off switch on it. Granted I was generally too slow for that.
It's awful. I ended up rage quitting in frustration. Static platforms are bad enough in this game with the crap movement controls... moving? Just kill me. :(
The second set of flames seem to be impassable unless you hit the off switch. No dodging through and tanking it, you have to hit the switch and jump back down. Of course that doesn't mean you have to take the elevator twice, it's possible to reach the off switch jumping off that little patch of dirt just north of it.
The one time I attempted to run through the flames without 100% armour, the damage stunlocked me. They seem way deadlier than other similar traps in previous locations.
During future attempts I could not even get close to running past the flames before they switched back on. Maybe it's possible with pixel-and-frame perfect precision but that's not fun especially since iirc it's required to pass this to progress.
Conversely I actually didn't find the moving platforms that hard, once I'd identified the pattern.
My jump aiming is atrocious. They could be static and I'd still take a dozen tries.
I dont get the flame thing. It's like the only luck I have as that is easy. I just roll dive through em and take maybe 20 dmg as ya, the timer on that off button is way short.
You can do more than just run into them.

Mouse. Did try WASD and that's pretty godawful which I guess explains why the dev even says dont use it.
RE: Spikes
Makes a nice mob grinder. Course the one in the screenshot is from an earlier section before this one. The ones here are just an annoyance at most. :)
I've been using a controller and it does a great job of "mixing" W, A, S, and D to move in any direction ... but that doesn't overcome the "skill" issue of me lining up the jump and timing it right. I think the parkour sequence is just "too long" ... it was really frustrating to miss that final jump and have to start the entire run all over again.
I gave up on it and moved on hoping it was just to a secret/loot area. No. Had to come back and try it like 30 times to get it to move on to the boss.
Would prefer parkour was kept to a minimum along the main story line.
Dev talks about core ideals and accessibility.. this doesn't quite fit. I'm down with traps and whatnot as they were used anywhere else. I mean you had a prior section to this from Wlerin's screenshot that is spikes and jumps but at least its static jumps so its not *too* bad.
The controls remind me of Diablo except I dont have to jump in Diablo. lol.
thanks for this.... (now a) parkour game with lousy controls for that sort of game
The controls for this game were mostly adequate until hit this crap
Personally I'm stuck at the timed bit where you have to jump to a switch and step on it to start a timer where the fire jets are off and then as fast as possible jump down step on another switch, then run jump and roll onto a platform that rises up and then from there as fast as possible get past some pushing spikes and jump some more to finally supposedly be able to run by the fire jets before they restart....
I thought I did this perfectly the last time and the jets still came when I still wasn't even that close to them. So either this isn't possible or maybe it is sometimes bugged?
Or maybe the timing on this is just a little to tight most players...
I don't see how to can get past this at this point so it means I pretty much have to quit since there's no other way around this
So did you get past this part? If you read my previous post you'll see I'm stuck on this..
what else were you able to do to get past? or was it a one time sort of success?
Ya that is exactly the spot I'm talking about. The fire thing I was able to strap on the ancient shield and jump spam roll to get through the fire so I can consistently get to the platform before the moving ones but I can't get the moving ones. Seriously I'd rather be in a room with 10 of the large monster spawners or have to fight voidbear again.
So ya, I'm stuck too. It's sad because I liked this game up until this point. I hope devs will do something on this but I'm not holding my breath.
