Co-op?
Are you considering adding support for co-op play to Len's Island? It looks like the kind of game that would become even more fun with one or two friends in the game world with you.

Co-op/Multiplayer is something that's still a long way off. Our long-term goals for Len's Island is to add multiplayer support, although that is still potentially year(s) away. The game is a very rewarding single player experience, multiplayer would be more of an addition rather than a core feature. As the game has been developer with a solo player in mind.

I came here to ask this question, nice to see you already did.
This game looks great to play Online Co-Op.
I agree, with COVID keeping everyone disconnected and stressed out having more coop and multiplayer games is always welcome. I am sure this will be a really fun game but I would much rather play a game where I can share the experience with someone else.

yeah, coop online would be super great - specially with everything happening outside :steamhappy:

Great to read that. I would love to play co-op, but if the game is intended to play single-player, it's better that way. I played some games that were developed to play as single-player, but the community asked for co-op, and the developers just add another character, without thinking in lore, mechanics, and gameplay... Turns out the game became a mess.

If you are willing to implement a co-op someday, I suggest you take your time and think about every element in the game, how would it change when playing on co-op. You could also do the same approach some developers do, like Klei Entertainment, who made another game, Don't Starve Together, to maintain a single-player game and a co-op game in a way each one wouldn't interfere in the other's gameplay.

Thanks for the reply =)
a good game needs multiplayer :P hope u can add it in future. a kickstarter :)

No worries! Looking forward to trying the game either way!
when it comes, co-op will probably give a boost to the game's sale

My two cents: People who play shooters expect a competitive PvP mode, so that's an obvious choice that gets made early in development. What a lot of developers don't seem to realize is that every building/crafting game should have co-op multiplayer available.

If a co-op mode is available for a building/crafting game, there's an entire market segment that will auto-buy 4-packs, or in pairs at the very least. I'm not saying it would double your market reach, but it would certainly expand it.

My family has bought multiple copies of nearly a dozen multiplayer building/crafting games just in the last 30-45 days; some of those were researched only as far as "This concept seems interesting; find a gameplay video on YouTube and let's buy 4 copies if it doesn't look awful." Co-op multiplayer (and multi-packs at even a tiny discount) for not-necessarily-competitive games are kind of a big deal to a larger segment of the population than one might at first think.

I couldn't care less about a PvP mode, but I do half agree with you about every building/crafting/explorer/survival open world should have coop, at least local coop. BUT only if the game was made with this intention in the first place. I know some games that wasn't developed as a coop that the company fell under the community pressure to add a coop mode... It turns out the coop was ♥♥♥♥ because the whole game wasn't made with this intention...

Systems were broken and didn't work well on coop like gold that didn't share between characters, XP only going to one character instead of both, if one of the characters started a mission, the other one was forced to go with the one who started the mission, both characters couldn't leave the screen of each other...

So... It's better to do a game with intention to be coop than rather simply add coop and expect to people to like it. The game sold more than was expected, but it's in Mixed right now because of the coop problems, and if you check the reviews, pretty much 90% of the negative reviews are about something wrong with coop.

In this situation, I rather wait for a second game built for coop (like Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together) than having a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game that doesn't work properly.

100% agree with you. Exploring/building/survival/crafting is my second favorite game genre, and my favorite to play with friends. I have a group of friends who loves to play this genre together, and when we see there's a 4-pack version to buy, we share the money and buy to play together. Of course, the 4-pack isn't a main criteria to buy a game, but we are from Brazil and games here are expensive, having a 4-pack really helps and incentive us to buy the game.

All 4-pack price is the price of 3 copies and the 4th is free, by the way. And yeah, this is true. I'm a player who checks every single game there is on Steam, literally, besides the Asian/Korean/Chinese ones (because Steam doesn't recommend to me). I literally saw and checked all Steam games via Discovery and opening the full list of games and going one by one to mark as "Not Interested" or to add to my wishlist. I have now 88k games marked as "Not Interested", and remember that I didn't check all Asian/Korean/Chinese ones.

I love Metroidvania, is the favorite game genre, I see the trailer, if the graphics isn't ♥♥♥♥ I simply add to my wishlist to buy and enlarge my metroidvania library. Even if I'm going to play after some years to come, I WILL buy it.
I somehow got bored of this game pretty quickly. Yet I would really love to play this game with my daughter in LOCAL coop. I don't even need online coop or multiplayer. This game would be perfect for couch coop, adventuring and exploring the dungeon together, relaxing and building our home together, ...

These types of games, as was the case with Force of Nature and others, are very good to be able to play cooperatively PVE online.

It may take more development, but in some way it would also justify making updates or DLC that would justify even more coop in the story.

Very good solo dynamic, but let's hope that Flow will try it at some point, hehehehe

PLEAAAASSSSEEEE!!! jajajaja
I would love coop and then play with my gf
