How to communicate when playing crossplay (PS5/Steam)

Pretty sure this hasn't been asked before but how do I talk to a friend on Steam when i play on PS5? I only started up the game once so far and in the main menu it shows the Discord symbol. However, Discord isn't available on PS5 (yet). So how can I communicate with my friend?

Is there an ingame voice chat or do I have to download Discord on my phone and have it laying next to me which probably wouldnt work very well though?

I called my second player on Discord because the in-game voice chat disconnects as soon as the game is over or the game crashes.
