Indeed WASD is actually perfectly serviceable and actually preferable for fixed cam titles for me. Happy that the RE1/0 remake had options for both and it's what I'm using in Tormented Souls/Them and Us.
Never really understood the gamepad gatekeepers honestly.

I like PAD for comfort, but some games are better on keyboard, like ofc FPS shooters 😉 Some better on PAD like racing games... And some games are same equal, just preferences...

In some modern games of this genre there are options to use old classic tank controls and I always use this feature. In fact i always rebind the controls to match the ones we had on 1996 on Resident Evil 1/2/3 on PC.

Move the character with the arrows of the keyboard.
Z = Menu
X = AIM
C = USE / SHOOT
V = RUN

Damn the nostalgia hits hard on my on this matter.

I recommend getting a keyboard that's at least three decades old. One with bread crumbs tucked beneath most of the keys. if your Tab Key isn't stuck than you've picked wrong.

I had one... PIN connector, with PS2 adapter... Bull, with mechanical Cherry Switches!!! Weight like 2kg, and it was indestructible!!! Lived even after 2 beers and 1 champagne spilled over!!! 😁
