Who should I get with the Character Voucher?
New player to the game and know of the Taimanin series for a long time now and this game as well, though I wasn't initially interested in it at first until years later. Gave a go and I like it and I already got Asagi, Sakura (I started with her), and Yukikaze already on my character list and just finished the 7-Day Welcome Event to get the voucher.

Looking at the list I'm not sure who to get. I do want to get Rinko the most, but looking at how much Gems it takes to "unlock" them should I go for a more difficult character to unlock? As in the ones that require the most Gems to use to unlock.

Any suggestions?

I see. Getting the Arena Weapon isn't too bad and they're UR which higher stats and levels making it easier to power them.

So, I should go for Yuklkaze's Arena UR weapon first so I have an easier time doing PvE content with her until I get better characters, weapons, and supports? Or should get Murasaki's Arena Weapon or Emily's?

I would play a few regular missions with each of them to see which one you like the best.

Yuki does a ton of damage and has a faster playstyle than the other two. She's just really good all around. It's also worth noting that Yuki and Aina share weapons, Murasaki and Emily's weapons are unique to them.

Murasaki feels very slow, but if you give her 3 green supporters and pick Tentacle Mine, she gets a huge speed buff (both move & attack speed) that makes her more fun to play. She also has super armor which means she won't flinch when enemies hit her.

Emily has horrible mobility. She deals tons of damage though, and you can sleepwalk through dailies and "routine" content with her. I personally cannot stand playing her, but she's still my 1st choice for blasting through event levels.

All that said, if Sakura is your favorite then just play her. It's better to play a character you find fun than to play a character you hate just because they're powerful.

Just adding a little tidbit of tangential information since most important things were already addressed by previous commenters, if you are curious of what the max stats of literally any supporter or weapon will be just multiply whatever the unenchanted, Lvl 1, and SLvl 1 base stats of the weapon or supporter is by 11.807565, that will be within about 100 of the max stats. But also a general idea of strength is Event < Normal Gacha < Limited Gacha < Mileage with Arena weapons being around the Limited Gacha range of power. Emphasizing one point, Emily is not for everyone, however she is by far the absolute best character if your intention is to make things easier for yourself; she is the best PvP character bar none, because she uses her missiles at the start of every fight and has really long range alongside a bunch of good additional skills. However if you just want to play and enjoy, pick your favorite/s and play, I personally like Kurenai, Sakura, Su, and Rinko a lot but none of them are stellar when you compare them to the titans like Emily, Astaroth, Murasaki, and Aina(notice 3 of them are ranged).

Hmm... well I like Yukikaze for clearing fights and her skills for healing herself as Sakura can't do that and I like playing Sakura, but it's hard to clear certain harder missions with her especially against HP sponge enemies with high attack like Ninja Bear.

Event Weapons are that weak? Because they're Free?

I was planning on using Emily for auto-farming really. To help ease grinding a bit.

I only got 6 characters unlocked so I can't say which one I like the best yet.

By the way, is Annerose worth getting? I know you need to buy her via the Package which is $45 USD roughly without taxes (which is TOO much for a single character even though you get a lot of goodies I rather just unlock the character).

Yes, because they are free. However many of them have good passives, the snake god weapons grant increased particle gain and have a powerful active. Maxed weapon stats aren't far enough off from one another while having high level characters to where it makes or breaks things. The effects are sometimes more valuable.

They actually recently had a sale for her for the first time, they might do it again in the future, I don't have her. As far as worth it is concerned, I believe you can try out the skills of any character before getting them so you can get some kind of feel for how she plays. Money wise worth is sadly very subjective, I have gotten the Emily baywatch costume that is currently available because they had to give her tan lines which just got me. So similar to that being subjectively "worth getting", gotta make the decision on Annerose yourself, for me not right now I like who I've got and $45 USD is a bit much.

I see.

Also, they go on sale? I like to collect all characters (to increase AP as well) so I'll wait for a sale or wait a while to build up my money. There's no rush to get her.

But, the monetary practices in this game is outrageous! What are these prices?

By the way, in Arena. Can you get knocked out of your Rank or once you rank up you can't go back down? Seeing as I need to be Top Tier Rank to gain access to Arena Weapons. Got over 2k at the moment, though I did spend some to get Crest. I got lucky with one that increase Arena Coin gain and reduce the price for using the 100% Coin Increase option.
Blasphemy77 16 AGO 2023 a las 8:13 p. m.
The pricing practices are a bit up there and Annerose has only been on sale once but if it is more of an eventually thing there is little reason to get her now. After receiving weekly rewards if you are too close to the previous tier you can drop down and then have to go back up usually just a few wins. I don't think I have ever dropped outside of that.

Alright. I think I'll go with Shishi next seeing as she's "broken" in PvP and I need all the help I can get to get those Arena Weapons for my characters.

I got Sakura to level 75, but sadly I do not have the resources to unlock her level 80 cap. Yukikaze is level 70 and currently working on Asagi to get her to level 50 first and then next cap for Arena as they're currently my highest level characters out of the 6 I have.

And other tips I should know?
Blasphemy77 16 AGO 2023 a las 10:14 p. m.
Aside from the cheesy tip of just play and enjoy the game and it'll last longer than trying to maximize efficiency, a few simple ones I guess.

Don't worry about breaking level cap too much, it makes a difference but it isn't game-breaking if compare the absolute potential with how much time and resources you need. Basically it will take a good while to max even one character because some resources are actually time gated. As far as the base stats you get from level cap breaking isn't that significant when you get high level weapons and supporters, the awakening points are much more impactful but you get drip fed those so you need multiple characters to break the cap to get real return.

If you see an event, clear and farm the event, by this I mean keep doing it until you get both the supporter/weapon/gacha coin from the box AND the gems before rolling to the next tier, this makes a decent dent in resources gained. Arena weapons are the "best" in the sense they grant such high stats, incredibly consistent to farm, and are available for every character(some events will only give up to 5 vouchers that can be used for typically 3 characters so only 1 maxed weapon).

For gachas try to at least do the half price first attempt so you can get the desire points if a supporter or costume comes along in the desire shop that you want. This also gives you the obvious shot at getting some UR supporters and weapons. Kind of wrapping back to event weapons, if you see a snake god weapon event, red weapons with snake stuff on them, use a voucher for each separate character you can. The buffs you can get from the armory? whatever it is called where you set up to 10 weapons and get attack bonuses, snake god weapons give the second highest set attack bonus only behind the mileage cherry blossom weapons.
VirusChris 16 AGO 2023 a las 10:26 p. m.
Snake God weapons? I will keep a look out for it.

Until then use weapons I'm not going to use for Armory? And I'm making sure to do the Events.

I couldn't finish the Re-Run Nightmare Mansion event, but I did get something good from it with the UR Support.
Blasphemy77 16 AGO 2023 a las 11:39 p. m.
Yes, since you don't have many characters it will be somewhat easy to just throw in weapons for the ones you haven't recruited yet. The increase to attack goes up based on not only the rarity but also the level or the weapon, or maybe it is just level and because UR have higher level caps they give more, I haven't tested it but safe to say throwing in UR weapons is obviously the best way to go. Arena weapons also open up more UR weapons to go into the Armory because S level doesn't affect the attack bonus and arena weapons have some of the lowest set bonus(when putting in I think 3/5/7/9 of the same weapon group). Events have become basically constant stuff, they used to be more spaced out, now they usually have them overlapping all the time so supporters and weapons should come fairly easily if gradually.

Just wanted to chime in because I feel like it was my post that influenced this decision haha. Yes, Shisui is definitely broken in PvP, but for the Arena Weapons you only need to gather 6k points. Before hitting Top Class (6k), you only fight bot accounts with very weak characters. If you're struggling against them, then feel free to get Shisui, but in my personal experience, Emily is strong enough to mow down any bot account.

Shisui's brokenness truly shines through if you try to go beyond 6k points, where you will face nothing but actual players and where small advantages become much more apparent.

I see.

Seeing as there's two Arena Weapons per character on the Reward List is there any differences or just simply just a different color with similar stats and effect?

How about upgrading my Facility? I got the Mission Briefing room maxed out so I can get the BP Potions now to help recover. What's a good point to help level up lower level characters or earn Skill Points?

Should I focus on leveling up Attack, Defense, and Health for my Taimanin over the other Skills?

For Events, I'm having a tough time surviving or getting all missions on Hard Difficult Event missions. What can I do? Even with Sakura and Yukikaze with CP 58k and 38k respectively I struggle a lot. Yukikaze doesn't have any UR weapons yet.

"Emily is strong enough to mow down any bot account."

Hmm... is that so? I did demolished an Emily with my Sakura so I wasn't sure how good Emily was suppose to be. Certain movesets for her? I do have SR weapons equipped on her and have all her Arts unlocked. What build should I be looking for PvP Emily?

When Emily was first released I remember people being in total shock because it was the very first time real people were actually starting to lose to bot accounts haha (player accounts were obviously overall much weaker back then). She is still really good in Arena too, despite facing 2 years of anti-Emily Supporters and characters being released. That's why she's more than powerful enough to start sweeping bot accounts even with very little investment given to her, as the bots often have randomized set-ups and builds.

Emily is very flexible with her build, so feel free do whatever works best for you, but my advice is to at least include Homing Bullets and Healing Field. Gravity Hold is also very good if you opt to use one or more blue Supporters on her.

(Useless fun fact: Blue Emily dominates PvP when the blue Supporters are too strong, as she has done in the past. Any blue Supporter that is very powerful is currently often designed in such a way that Emily can't use them to their fullest potential.)

There's three - Red, Green, and Yellow. They all have the same base stats and passive bonus damage vs other taimanins in arena. Red also reduces damage you take from enemy ultimates, green reduces enemy crit chance, and yellow reduces the duration of debuffs on you. Most people run green and/or yellow.

How about upgrading my Facility? I got the Mission Briefing room maxed out so I can get the BP Potions now to help recover. What's a good point to help level up lower level characters or earn Skill Points?
You can unlock the xp and skill point facilities to help with this. Each one can only have one taimanin in it at a time, but it does help.

Should I focus on leveling up Attack, Defense, and Health for my Taimanin over the other Skills?
Attack Damage first in most cases. Defensive abilities will be of more value in harder content like Arena Tower and pvp, but for blasting through dailies if you have enough damage the other stats don't even matter. The points cost gets more expensive per rank, so you can go 5 or 10 points in each stat then focus on attack until max. An ability-based character like Sakura will want Ability Damage and Cooldown. Eventually you want all stats at max rank (25).

For Events, I'm having a tough time surviving or getting all missions on Hard Difficult Event missions. What can I do? Even with Sakura and Yukikaze with CP 58k and 38k respectively I struggle a lot. Yukikaze doesn't have any UR weapons yet.
Well don't get discouraged, but those are still relatively low CP values. For reference my Rin is 108k and she's still level 81 and not quite fully enchanted yet. Your CP value is greatly affected by the slvl of your primary weapon and supporter slots, so you'll notice a big difference as you start getting better stuff.

"Emily is strong enough to mow down any bot account."

Bot accounts are not fully leveled and use suboptimal weapon, supporter, and formation combinations. They also don't have awakening points. This is why I wouldn't worry about getting Shisui or any other character based solely on their pvp power level. Even the most powerful character will get one-shot if your opponent has way more awakening points than you, which will sometimes happen once you get Top-Class rank (where there are actual players in the opponent list), and is guaranteed to happen in the Top 100 (all real players with very geared characters).

The enemy team also gets a stacking health and damage buff for each win you get. So eventually you WILL lose and then the enemy buff resets. You lose arena points when you lose a match, so it is possible to de-rank if you lose enough times without enough wins to offset the point loss.
