Well they do ban cheaters for one, for second low level players can complete the tower using a friend character that his very strong and even if I have beaten the tower I could just but low lever character in the team so you'll think that I've cheated the tower when I did not.
Honestly who cares about the PvP content ? If you are the fastest to clear the time attack......... nobody cares, if you are the number 1 player in arena......... nobody cares. So I agree about cheaters getting removed but you should focus on having fun with the PvE content, unless you are a whale who spend money in order to be number one then go waste your money :3
I do sympathise and totally agree with the OP that there are cheaters in Arena Tower and Time Attack but it is not like 'everyone' is cheating. Sounds like you are just struggling to beat it and are a bit upset, that compounded by the fact some people in your friend list obviously cheated to do it and you won't lower yourself to that dishonest behaviour. :P I too found a few people in my friend list with impossibly low CP teams and were at the 50th floor which I could not understand. I figured it out eventually once I was strong enough to beat it but I just work my way up as far as I could and then worked on getting more familiar with different character builds and how to play them and eventually spending a bit of money too. It is a gacha game!
I do not assume to know how long you have played for or your skill but it is worth noting, arena tower is 'End Game' content and it is really something that is there to challenge you over and over until you finally beat it. It isn't really something that is intended for you to beat easily or right away. It also heavily favours the 'Pay To Win' model. You could beat it eventually as a Free to Play but will take a while to grind out your weapons supporters to the point where you can be strong enough and skilled enough with your character to progress to the next level. Like mentioned before, maybe you could try tower using a correspondence message to control a friends character to finish it? (one that didn't cheat lol). You can check their formation by hitting the two crossed swords next to their name in your friend list (as if you were going to friendly PvP them) to see what they have set, their weapons, supporters, CP level etc.
I wish you luck! Have fun...
Well you could beat arena tower easily when it was floor 50 max by doing this:

No idea if they decided to put a timer on all levels but at fllor 74 & 75 there is a time limit so...........
As a F2P player I got to drop a support that give invulnerability so I could beat the tower once again and I had to because no one in my friend list did it before so I couldn't get a friend character:

I've been able to beat every events as a F2P player but I've been playing 2 weeks after launch so I have a very good advance.
EDIT: OP got 198.8 hrs on record (1.2 hrs at review time), I have almost 800 hours so I guess OP isn't very new.
Yeah definitely too much cheating in online games I agree especially when you put in the effort to get good at a game an show some pride in your achievement. Time attack for example, nobody stands a chance to get their time in there by honest means lol!
I just hit over 1000 hours. I started around the anniversary event. I have spent a decent amount on the game. probably spent more than I would have liked as I'm impulsive lol. Having a blast. The game isn't perfect but its got it where it counts..... ( o ) ( o ) haha! Love the artwork and the character and support designs there is a lot of effort goes into that side of it. Just need more of that and more main story content and more to do! Tower repeatable, yes please, don't care about the rewards really.
Looking forward to March 8th, lots of new goodies!
Your awakenings are different, your armory is different, your seals are different, your supporter formation is different, your hp bonuses are different, your costumes are different... Dude... you are not them.
That being said, ANY character getting demolished in an instant in the tower is perfectly normal. That's what the tower is after all. Endgame material. Who said that it wasn't like that for all of us? Even whale Ultra's Shiranui (the most defensive character KNOWN in the community) dies instantly if locked down in the tower.
But still... the wooden weapon challenges that you can find on youtube speak volumes on the matter.
Anyway, your friend could have easily grabbed a green Murasaki from a friend of his own and that's all that he needed to clear the tower. What? Only you can do that?
Cheaters we DO have in this game. No questions about it.
When you see time attacks cleared in 5 sec by a rank 30 player with a normal weapon and no magatamas there are no excuses.
Arena... Yes, there are cheaters in the arena. Yes... We do have them :(
Still... Looking at the current rankings i THINK that you simply fell for an exploit rather than actual cheating. In the arena you don't win only by beating your opponent using your BP, but also by making them lose with their own BP.
Now... The arena is a competition and as such i don't feel like sharing too much information, but if you lost to that dude with the long Japanese name, then yeah... He is not cheating. Though i have to agree that it's a dirty exploit... heck me myself reported it as bug abusing back in the day.
Also also YES. At the first couple of days of the arena week you CAN find top rankers with level 30 characters. Nothing strange about it. Well it's the end of the week that matters and you see nothing of the sort then.
Anyway... Just so you know Gremory does NOT read this chat. If you see someone cheating send a message to support@gremorygames.com
Due to the beautiful way that laws work, they will most likely not reply to you, but if the other person is actually cheating the ban hammer will strike.
For now the automatic control for cheaters is a little... "unfair" is the word i'll pick, but then again, it IS a small company, so we can't expect too much.
I do not care either to be the first one in the arena tower nor in the arena duels nor in time attacks. In arena tower I get to the 47 floor but I just can't go through, but it's okay and I'll try when I'll have stronger characters with stronger backup. In arena duels I challenge till 6000 points in order to gain topclass rewards and that's it. Time attacks is the less of my interests as I use it only to gain and upgrade magatamas (that's what it is for, after all). I don't care about being the top or beneath the top ranks.
What I do not stand is simply those who can't play a game using their skills. This happens in a lot of games, especially in survivals or shooters, where if it is not pay-to-win they simply use cheats and get overpowered in two seconds, ruining the taste of the game. I never aimed to the top, I do not feel any source of pride or self-esteem about it.
I just dedicate this game in growing slowly and patiently my characters, one by one, day by day, level by level, events after events, upgrades after upgrades, till I reach them all or till I just lose interest in the game because at some point in our lifetime a game simply is left and that's it.
This game has good potential, it's well maintaned and upgraded, it's simple and nice. And that's why I "hate" those who just ruin it, it's not worthy. But ok, I deal with it and that's it.
Thanks for the info on that. I've never tried the correspondence message to control a friends character so I cannot really speak from personal experience there. I guess it's just a bit of a gimmick and fun to try out someone else's character to see what its like perhaps before committing to spending gems to unlock it?
To MarauderPenguin - Totally agree with a lot of what you have said and cheating is kinda like cheating yourself. Hope you do get through the rest of tower and have some fun while doing it. You get that 'feel good factor' once you clear the difficult floors. I am pretty sure I was stuck on one of the 30ish floors for ages if that is the one of the boss floors you are talking about? Took me loads of re-tries and a bit of luck to clear. It kinda sucks you cannot repeat floors just for the challenge or to test out builds. PS. I am still at floor 70. Not in any rush. I think I tired it twice and failed last month and haven't bothered to go back and have another go. ;) Good luck!
outsiderd9 - You mentioned some sort of exploit in PvP. I know you didn't wanna really get into it and I can understand why. There is one dude in the rankings with a long Japanese name that just has Emily in the third slot with like 10k CP. Is that the one?
Well technically we are not allowed to point fingers or say names so i can't exactly come out and say "YES! EXACTLY HIM! THAT DUDE! PRECISELY HIM!!!!"... but instead i'll leave it up to you to understand that it was exactly that one that i had in mind when i mentioned that... ops... emm... err... oh well.
Now this is a little hard to explain without getting into specific details, but i can give it a try.
Let's say that you have a person in your friend's list and that person is also a ranker in the arena. You try to face him in the free fight in your friends list and you kick his as*.
Now you go to the arena and you find that same person when you are at a... let's say 5 win streak. You are glad to have found an easy mark and opt to fight him. You just barely manage to pull a win! Perplexed you look out for him again and fight him one more time. He almost kicks your booty. Finding it unacceptable you look for him again, fight and... bye bye win streak...
Long story short, the higher your win streak in the arena, the stronger your opponent becomes, as i think we all know by now.
Now, that "stronger" is not fixed, but for the most part it's nothing that great. It's not like someone with 200k health will have 1.000.000 health next time you fight him or anything.
But that dude... He gets huge jumps in power for every win in your streak.
Depends on your opponent of course, but a medium would be that you encounter someone with a million health when you are at a 40 win streak.
That lad instead, you could face him with hardly a 10 win streak and he could already have over a million health.
It's an exploit that focuses on the basis of using less characters to get that jump, so instead of getting a +10% for example in the modifier he gets +25% every time.
Of course it's useless for when he is the one fighting, but since people often look out for weaker opponents, he is baiting others into losing to him and depending on the time and his rank that can actually be a big hit for his opponent.
I had never got into PvP at all until recently and figured a few things out and thought, this is pretty damn dumb and not at all competitive and shouldn't really be taken all that seriously. However, if you,, A) know what to do and are willing to commit and grind away at it and B) have enough BPs or gems saved up to follow through, all power to ya. Just seems waste of BPs/gems and time spent for the reward in the end and more an epeen waving competition and to see your name up there for furnishing the ego.
Generally, this AI based type of PvP that is pretty much numbers, RNG and algorithms and can be beaten once you figure it out. It is probably not a good idea for those that think it is a truly fair competitive system to not expect be fcked over or for those that get angry at underhand tactics but as you have pointed out, knowledge is power. If you have the will and means and it is not against TOS in the game, its fair play unless specifically stated otherwise. It just a bit underhand when certain tactics are used and you are expecting level playing field.
Edit: Actual controllable PvP would be awesome and pretty fun but there would really need to be some sort of anti-cheat as people would no doubt destroy it with hacks and there would be lots of tears lol!
Thanks again for the reply.
