how do I use a controller? i See it in the options but I cant figure out how to enable it. not spending a dime on this game if I cant use a controller.

do you use xbox gamepad or playstation? or any ohter? when you open setting menu in the game it shows xbox layout.
i remember it detected my ps3 gamepad without problems when i tried maybe in last month? now in steam libary, this game settings when you right click on game icon i need to set "forced on" to make it even work but the camera is messed up.
i will test tomorrow my ps4 pad when im at home.

Gamepad has worked for me from the get-go. I use a wireless Xbox 360 gamepad that's plugged in with a charging cable. You might need mess with your steam controller settings if you havent. That's usually where the controller issues lie.

he probably use ps4 controller or similar custom one, i recall using ps3 without problems earlier but now both ps3/4 dont work.
probably ps3/4 controllers will work if you instal this:
https://github.com/nefarius/ScpToolkit
this driver will make your ps pad look like its xbox one.
but some games like fightning ones that use xbox and ps button layouts in game settings will show xbox one. so you would have to uninstal it by using clean tool included in it to recover these button layouts of original pad.
they need just to add/recover support of playstation pads in taimanin, because even some custom pads use this button layout.

try to do what i said, right mouse button on AT in libary, choose properties and in steam input per game try to choose different options.

I tried changing what you said but it still wont register my controller. every other game I have on steam works fine but for some reason it wont work on this game. do I have to save a separate config just for this game?

yeah my pads also usually works with everything on steam, looks like this game only detects Xbox 360 pad so far.
like the guy said you can also try on steam settings> controller> general controller config and /check/uncheck options there.
