I think that some of the achievements aren't registering correctly. I got 3 stars on the first set of levels, but no achievement. (Also, it seems like the one for starting Story Mode ought to have popped as well.) The ones for serving X amount of a customer type do seem to be working, though....

The instructions says we must play with controller but Steam says no controller support. The controls are really not working even when I use a controller.

I've tried many different things, but I can't find how to play the game in coop. Do I need to complete something to unlock it, or change a setting?

As the game is supposed to be set in Japan I did not fail to notice that it looks a bit too chinese. Mainly the buildings. That seems to be a very common mistake a lot of devs do when making a game set in Japan. The bright red wood and white stone walls is not something which one will see in mainland Japan. Maybe Okinawa, which is heavily influenced by chinese culture. But that's not the picture which comes to mind when one thinks about "Japan". Japanese buildings from that time aren't very colorful.
