I think they're probably still working out the kinks :)
Spider requires you to memorize one strict set of actions after extensive trial and error with zero room for variation.
Heart does literally nothing, like it can't even hit you.
Knight is complete RNG and sometimes uses a pattern of attacks you cannot possible hope to avoid, or cockblocks you by going invulnerable forever. You cannot beat it with 100% certainty, even if you've mastered the game's systems and do everything right.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We will try to make the Hell Knight fight a bit more bearable in the upcoming updates :)
EDIT: I tried at least 20 times without success. Came back later and beat him 1st attempt. I got the achievement and died bc the known problem of possible damage after the cutscene. I beat him once more, second time worked as intended.
This bossfight is very, very RNG i guess. About this healing issue: Simple, boss is healing after his first time in his orb, so don't waste your "good" ammo til this first orb is gone.
I'll go secret hunting now, can't wait for the rest of DT <3
Awesome! I look forward to it. He's got a really cool design. Bearable can still offer a challenge, though!
I was stacked with 100 hp 125 defence, full ammo. The only way I could bust his chops was by using the pump shotty to the first revitalise, then use the fist x2 and then use neo pistol slow motion and then the grenade launcher for the remainder. Only by this way was I able to DPS it down before it managed to DPS me out, because it's attacks covering the entire floor are pretty much unavoidable. it really is a contest of damage capability and not skill. If you missed the pickup upgrades from earlier maps it's going to be a softlock and rage quit.
"oneshot" attacks can be avoided but these spheres that slow down player and deal damage are too much...
so:
RNG spheres (black holes)
oneshots
force fields
area attacks
arrows
AND regeneration after phase 1.
WIthout NEO upgrade I could not beat that a... and when I finally did it, I had 7HP :D
(probably damage reduction in character upgrades could also help)
Dear devs pick 2 or 3, 4 but not all the poisons in the same time ;)
PS. Good to know that devs read this, except that one battle with knight gameplay is fun :)
I like the game and it was relatively easy to play on 'Nightmare', until this boss.
I was not able to take more than 50% health.
version: 0.9.1.8k
I don't know how many times I did that fight but I always end in a blackhole and he rush towards me and OS me -_-
Tried different build to see if a rune was needed for him without success.
I still don't understand what "bingo !" does too.
I am very surprised that this problem is still here in final release!
I choose normal difficulty. Usualy im playing every classic shooters on hard with no problem, but i wanted just a quick game this time.
After series of quite easy levels and few lame and annoying bosses (circle arenas fights with special conditions, no way how cover are many things but not fun, and not a classic oldshool boss. ) I am in another tiny circle with this ugly thing, theres practicaly no way how safely avoid all beam circles and knight together. And Boss takes a lot of health with every hit, but himself is superarmored, hes a living bulletsponge ormaybe hes healing so much.
Best I could do was took him cca 70% of health after cca 30 deaths, but then i had no ammo at all and was practicaly dead anyway. I tried fights with several setups, with no luck. Maybe I can do it on 50th try, But Im loosing my interest.
I dont know what and if something devs changed, but its still badly playable and probably unplayable withoud finding of most powerups.
I finished the game a few times now and I can finally end his miserable life !!
All other bosses are much easier, he's the hardest one but you get used to him.
Try different loadout, if you're looking for secrets, you'll find some pretty great upgrades too.
(follow the guides since secrets have truly important rewards + I found it fun to look for them)
The area is pretty small but take a look at the ground, try to avoid his attacks (it's doable) and unload the strongest weapons you have on him at the begining of the fight.
You should have a fully charged gauntlet, rocket launcher, the powerful gun (number 6 I believe) and the dual pistol (the hell version).
Honnestly, if you already start the fight by unloading the gauntlet and the rockets on him, he won't have that much life left so you can just finish him with the dual pistol and the single one (6).
Was a lot worst before, now he's a pain but definitely not impossible.
