Missing glitches and pixelated original game :-(
I've only played a bit of the demo so far, but two things have already struck me as negative:

1. the glitches were not adopted, which is a pity because they were a former elemental part of the original game. As an example, the second question mark box with the ghost: You have to be very fast to get rid of the ghost, so you just break two money blocks and the original game didn't have enough sprites left and removed the ghost. Very sad

2. the original mode: Nice that you can switch to play the original, but why with pixel graphics? The game never looked like that (to anyone). Everyone who played the game back then, like me, used a CRT monitor and connected the game via antenna or maximum video output. Everything was nice and soft and washed out. Clearly a filter or at least some scanlines are missing here.

1. Lol, wow, in over 30 years i never knew that it actually worked on Ghosts, i only knew it worked on money bags. Interesting, but then again, the ghost always so hideously slow, you didn't need a glitch to out run it anyway.

2. Actually, the Master System 1 offered full RGB-Scart support in Europe, which led to it not looking "soft and washed out", it actually gave a pretty crisp, sharp (as sharp as CRT can be, obviously, different manufacturers and the TV Quality had a massive impact, i have 2 CRTs and the picture difference between both (1 Thompson, 1 Sony) is surprising, the Sony looks sharp and nice.
Not everybody had to use the crappy RF-Cable that made everything look like a blurry mess.

The problem is simply: You can't properly emulate the CRT look. All emulators for the past 25 years desperately tried to get CRT Filters right and none ever managed it. It always looks too blurry, too harsh (on the scanlines) and too washed out, not even close to how it looked on a cheap TV with RF even.
So, personally, i think it's better to go with pixel perfect graphics
I always liked to use the glitch where you could break a rock that had scrolled halfway off the left side of the screen, and if you broke it, sometimes it would break the background scenery on the opposite right side. It's easiest to do at the end of level 4, to break pieces of St. Nurari's house. XD

In terms of the visuals, it's not attempting to 100% recreate it, it's the developers recreation of the original Master System version. It may differ in some subtle ways, but overall it should feel look an accurate representation!

I don't know what revolutionary crt tvs or monitors you used to play master system games but normally even with RGB connection you don't see any pixels (at least not the way it's shown here). I've had a lot of consoles with rgb connections (some of which I converted myself) but I've never seen pixels. CRT monitors create a natural anit-aliasing effect that benefited the games back then. I saw pixels for the first time in my life when I ran my first emulator on my Win 95 computer. By the way, emulators meanwhile offer an incredibly large selection of really good filters for the master system. 2xSAI or also RF look.

Too bad, then nothing can be done about it. But a few scanllines would still be quite nice :-D

I installed the Demo, saw the Ghost thing no longer works and promptly uninstalled. I'm so disappointed with this version. Wonder Boy 3's remake was perfect, take the game, modernise some mechanics and done.
Honestly, I never even used the ghost despawn trick. Most of the time it's easy enough to outrun, sometimes with a little thinking ahead.

I also prefer despawning the ghost like that and thought of it as a semi-hidden intentional mechanic, since outrunning it often means you run into something else and die later in the game (until learning the levels anyway), or you miss something and can't go back since the level doesn't scroll backwards. It should've stayed in classic mode at least.

https://twitter.com/Antzy28/status/1407827989304389632 This is literally how easy it is to outrun the ghost in level 1.

If every Wonder Boy, Alex Kidd, and other old games from Master System or NES (Castlevania series amongst others) would be remade in the same way of WB III, I'd probably be buying and playing through every one.
That was indeed a perfect remake and I'm craving for more.

I miss the 'glitch' way to get rid of the frog in the first level.
