I'd suggest give it a chance if you can, I got way better after a bit of time with it but appreciate the retro experience may not be for everyone.
That's not it.. It lags....... And the remastered version lags even more.. you can even see cracks at times xD
If you still want to add input lag for retro feel, then make it an option to activate.
It really look like a good remake, but these lack of option will make me think twice before buying the full game.
Thanks for all the comments & feedback on the controls. I can confirm that it's not input lag, though Alex Kidd doesn't necessarily control the same as some entirely modern platformers. We've done our best to keep the experience of the original intact to make sure it's a faithful recreation of the game that many loved playing as kids. Here's what contributes to the way the game feels
1. Intertia on stopping - Alex continues to move for a few frames after movement input ceases. This is required to perform the slide action and it pretty integral to the way the character controls
2. No coyote time – In modern platforming games it’s common to implement a few frames of leniency in using a jump after your character walks off a platform. Essentially this means you jump while in the air. Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX doesn't have this meaning you have to be incredibly precise with your platforming prowess
It is completely to deliver a retro gaming experience that pays homage to the original Alex Kidd in Miracle world. We totally appreciate why it may feel slightly strange at first compared to new platformers, but you do get used to it with a little practice
With regards to VSync, I'm pleased to say that this has been added into the game!
Thanks again for the feedback, we really appreciate it!
No problem, happy to action feedback where we can!
And thank you for that! I played the original and I can confirm that the game doesn'tt have input lag.
