Save gone, once again

Hi,

The game was fun for me, until my save was gone.
However I gave it another shot, this time I could go play until Radaxian Castle without problems.

Today when starting the game, my new save was gone, again...

Has anyone had this problem? Is there any solution?

I really don't want to start over again, even if the game is short, just because there's some bug...

Yes I confirm, on Windows 10.

This happened both times after closing the game in a hurry with ALT-F4.
Maybe this was the cause? I could try again to see if it was a coincidence or not.

I'm probably late to the party, but if you have steam cloud enabled, you can use a 3rd party program called steam save manager to check if its still on the cloud and you can manually download it from there if needed.

When looking on the Steam cloud page, there is no savegame.sav file anymore.
The local file also doesn't exist anymore.

It seems to have disappeared locally and from the Steam cloud at the same time...

What program were you referring to exactly?
As far as I understand, Steam does not archive files sadly.

edit2: checking the steam cloud on steam is worthless because it only shows what is available (linked) to your local machine. You can delete items from steam cloud servers directly through that app (there are some other apps that do this same thing too btw) but Idk of anyway you can actually accidently delete something from the cloud. It should be there.

I have no idea, never played the game again since then.
However my guess is, always close the game properly to prevent this bug.

Are you all pressing Alt+F4? That's mind boggling lazy if you are.... that's like holding the power button to shut down your PC. That's not how you close it...
