Mobile and Steam game data can't be shared due to policy restrictions. Similar to other games, Android and iOS versions are separate.

you can (with new account). you cant use your steam login

It means that you can't use steam login on the mobile version and vice versa, since they are seperate. If you already using the steam version, then continue with that one. If you want to play on mobile as well, then you need to start over.
I played the mobile version myself and was using my google account.
