I think the LGBTQ+ tag is mainly on the store page because there is a relatively wide variety of gender identities represented in the main cast of the game and some aspects of the story and setting bring up concepts of gender identity. For example, if you've played the demo, you've probably encountered the whole "Horneater" thing and you've seen how (and why) Ader struggles with the idea of being one.
Also, there's a general pro-LGBTQ+ vibe going on, which I think people who played The Hayseed Knight really appreciate - and since Steam tags are user-generated, that might be another reason why the tag is applied here.
Speaking specifically of male/male content (hopefully without major spoilers): There are some characters in here which I would identify as gay men, but if you're hoping for full-on male/male romance, I'm not sure you're going to get what you're looking for, at least not right now. Maybe there'll be a gay romance subplot coming in chapter 4 (the game currently has 3 chapters, with one more and an epilogue planned), but I think it would come as a big surprise if Ader himself was involved in any of it. At least, I feel this possibility hasn't been established very strongly yet (sorry, Lin).
Of course, that's just my own reading, maybe I missed some hints here and there, so feel free to correct me, everyone :D
The Hayseed Knight is marked as LGBTQ+ because other than having multiple queer characters all across the spectrum of gender and sexual orientation (I'm myself I'm trans masc and pansexual! Hi!), queer identities and how they intersect with race and privilege is one of the underlying central themes of the game.
There are several gay and lesbian characters the first being most notably one of the big plot points in chapter 3, but the romantic focus of this game is on Ader's concerns about how love works.
I won't say anything about what's to come in chapter 4 because it's very much still in development, but as I always say: this is a story with a romance, not a dating sim. I always joke that Ader is the love interest, but the focus won't suddenly shift to one where the player has a say over his love life, so if it's not what you're looking for, that's totally understandable!
I hope you have a wonderful day, and a happy 2021!
