Idk how this is possible? Both residents are almost always home and getting everything done before they notice stuff is gone seems utterly impossible.

You have two opportunities to do your work, during their shared time while they are out of the house, or while both are asleep for the night. Of the two I think you have a little more leeway with the nighttime approach, but you obviously have to be aware of how loud you're being.

If you're having trouble with the heavy stuff, park at the lot by the pawn shop (across the street), and phone up your associate... have them do all the heavy lifting while you focus on the smaller bits and baubles. Just keep in mind that you have to re-activate the heavy carry task each time they return, they cost a hundred bucks (until you get the stolen rewards perk), and that they can only use their assistance a finite amount of times per session (a session is basically that trip to the neighborhood)

Also make sure it's not a Burglar Awareness Day. In my experience people won't notice stuff gone on other days; they'll only notice if a door is unexpectedly open and will only sound the alarm if they try to walk through a door that's supposed to be locked but isn't.

So, if you unlock the front door, make sure to lock it again behind you.

What about the cabinet key in 2c for the first heist?
