How does the ski mask work?

I shelled out $2000 for a ski mask so I don't have to keep running around ripping down my protraits from the neighborhood. (I'm not a good thief, I keep getting seen!), but there is nothing to indicate that I'm wearing it... and no option to equip it. So, just by buying it and having it in inventory is enough? it makes no sense.

Yep, just having it is enough. You'll no longer have to deal with posters.

I got it pretty early and have never once seen a wanted poster. It's pretty sweet.
