Control Panels
I just got the demo and tried the Engineering tutorial. First, great concept of a game. I look forward to seeing what you do with it. I can see it being a great multiplayer game, but it seems hard to make it a good single player game.
Anyway, In the tutorial, you need to do quite a lot of running around going from one remote panel to another remote panel. It seem to me, a la Star Trek's LCARS, that any control panel should be able to access any other control panel, since all control panels are soft screens currently anyway. At least all engineering and electrical control panels should be accessible from the main Engineering control panel. All cryogenic function should be accessible from the main cryo panel. Localized repairs may require you climb through the Jefferies tubes but otherwise normal operations should be accessible through Engineering, the Bridge, or who knows where.
Anyway, just a thought with lots of potential work involved. Great work so far and keep going.

There will actually be an engineering control room, and most actions will able to be performed from there. There will also be two engineering stations on the bridge, but they'll only support high-level functions.

The engineering control room will actually serve as an emergency bridge, so it will have a holo-display and pretty much everything the main bridge has.

Fantastic. I am looking forward to seeing it in time. Great job and keep going.

I just posted this exact same comment lol. Glad to see where the design is going!

Exactely the same thought! to me having to run around to specific panels can only be immersive and believable if it's to go to low level mechanical switches for absolute initial start (or incidents emergencies), or for pipes and valves, where it's logical to be located at specific places. Other than that any higher logical/electrical systems managed via LCDs cannot be location specific and it is absolutely not immersive, it's artificial time lost and and artificial content, to me a game breaker. Also my profile is NOT multiplayer, so some modern interfaces is a must to stick playing as a single player. But I will support this game and feel the amazing opportunities within!

An engineering control room serving as an emergency bridge. Heh... I would be thinking of a battle bridge in U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-D. Well that's interesting.
