If it is a concern, you can always wait until a sale, and get it below 20, like I did. I prefer not to get stuff full price, this game doesn’t go on mega discounts I don’t think but you can get a lower price if you wait for it to go on sale. Then I completely recommend it.
I can’t obviously tell you how to experience it for yourself as everyone is different and such, but my personal recommendation is ‘yes, get the game’, if not now then on sale, and don’t learn any more about it if possible because in my personal experience, genuinely knowing so little of what the game would offer made the game so much more interesting and fun to me, experiencing the new mechanics and the story blindly for the first time.
IF YOU MUST KNOW MORE, AND WANT TO IGNORE MY ARVICE ABOVE ABOUT NOT TRYING TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE GAME,
you just do want to know more about the game before purchasing, then to answer your questions,
> It is a puzzle game, you have to explore and find stuff with sometimes even relatively minimal instruction on just hinting what you need to do next to progress.
> It’s not really a sneak game though, apart from two or three sections later in the game I will not elaborate on. More than half the game, in the parts that have enemies, it’s more of an avoid and bait game to bypass the enemies.
> There is ‘exploration’, which is needed to progress and solve stuff and find the hidden side stuff. It isn’t however an open world game, but outside of the first areas, there is plenty of ‘space’ to get to where you need to go.
> About combat, there is no combat throughout most of the game that involves what you would expect ‘combat’ to be in a cat game — there is no clawing enemies or stuff like that you would expect combat to be like for a cat. There IS however mid-way through the game a ‘combat-ish’ section, but even then it’s short and most of the time I don’t think you’re even required to do it, it just makes it easier to progress. I will try to not spoil it more than that, but just in case you absolutely need more info, (semi-spoiler-y) it’s a point-and-click system where you point the camera at what you want to kill and you have a limited amount of time to kill the hoards of enemies before the weapon you use has to cool down. It makes sense in the story but might sound weird without context. But in a way it’s technically combat so it has to be included, ‘cause you are technically killing enemies and they’re trying to kill you. But this is a short section of the game and it isn’t that stressful if you take it slow. Honestly it was kind of fun.
But yeah it’s a platforming puzzle kitty game, really fun and the story was pretty good, especially for me that went in knowing absolutely nothing pretty much.
Frustrating it's the cheapest I've seen it, but only up until the winter fest sale. Watch me buy it and then it goes to 50% off. 🤣
It's a good game, I'm happy having bought it at full price.
This game, however, is genuinely easy and doesn't involve any actual combat more complicated than shining a purple light on things for an area or two.
Ex: 8H shown on youtube..while It took me 15 hours.
It's relative but if you don't engulf into the games atmosphere and speed run the game that's what you'll get :s
Thanks everyone for your answers. I appreciate it.
