Its still made in unreal. That isn't going to change.

Stutters a bit for me sometimes when I first load into the gameworld, and sometimes when taking those 'bucket rides', which I assume is related to loading new textures or areas into memory or something.

Smooth during normal gameplay.

Play in DX12. After an extremely brief shader compilation, game will be vastly smoother and less CPU bound than DX11.

It does. I was waiting for a patch to remedy the reported stuttering issues with this game. I just bought it today because of patch 4. Despite this newest patch notes stating the stutter issue has been fixed, I am experiencing regular stutter as I traverse through the game world even as the game performs well on my AMD 5600x / 3060ti. I've requested a refund.

Or you could've played in DX12 and avoided all stutters.

Thanks for the tip about DX12. My PC is a potato but still relatively good (can run the train sims and the 2020 MS Flight Sim very well) but certain sections of Stray lag horribly.

Since the DX12 modes comes with raytracing, yes, no stutters. But terrilbe overall performance for most people.

You can use DX12 in Stray without RT, lol.

You can't..your amd card doesn't support RT so it's off lucky for you.. but in my rtx 3070 it will be enabled once i launch it in dx 12 and it looks bad honestly
The only fix is the devs provides a shader compilation before we start the game

There are console commands you can use to disable RT my dude.

No stutter in DX11 for 99 % of the time, aside from some occasional hitch that doesn't really bother me.
DX12 with Raytracing was running terrible, even on a 4080. Had drops into the low 30s at some point.
