That being said, yes, it sometimes feels like certain aspects could have been more fleshed out, but that doesn't make the game bad. It's good but could have been better.
It perfectly captures the essence of a cat being a cat which is the main point of playing this game.
If all you're looking for in a game is what will let you expend 300 hours of your life for the price of a decent meal, I'd agree it's probably best to look elsewhere. 4 hours isn't really accurate though, that's what some youtuber who knows exactly where everything is will take, if you're exploring and figuring it all out as you go, it's at least twice that. $2/hour for a meaningful experience for someone with a job who is used to paying for their own living expenses actually isn't that much comparatively speaking.
Oh well, I'll still play and enjoy it.
Original story and characters, well made game world with an immersive atmosphere, and probably most importantly it evoked emotions. Shed a few tears, which is not often. And the story keeps coming back on my mind, long after playing, so it made an impression
Not a big fan of the Zurg parts, though...
It's also clear you've never had a cat before, and if you did, I imagine it's only form of "combat" would have been scratching you when you mistreated it.
The obvious thing you missed is most loved this game because it fairly accurately portrays how cats move, associate, and explore, which is another reason to believe you've never had a cat before because you seem to know little about them.
