Only 5 Hours Long Campaign
As per HLTB - It takes only 5 hours to roll the end credits on Stray.

Is it really worth it to spend 30 Dollars on a 5 hour long game

Why not? This is an easy way to figure out how much enjoyment you might get out of a game. Some people, myself included, don't enjoy replaying games.

Frankly as an adult with responsibilities, I would much rather have a kick ass 5 hour game than a mediocre grindy 30-80hr game. Especially if it has replay value. I feel that the price it's offered for is MORE than fair.

Vanquish only has a 5 hour campaign and its arguably one of my favorite games ever made

People too often now go with the "1$/hour mentality", they end up saying empty worlds are worth the money and game like this one that arent worth the money. Its "only" 5 hours long? Still much more worth than any cinema movie, and you are the protagonist.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is one the best games I have ever played in the past 40 years. Not even exaggerating here. It's also a 6-hour game.

Game length =/= quality.

here, here.

I too respect a game that respects the player's time.
Also, quality tends to be inversely proportional to the quantity.

Personally I rather pay 30USD for 5h game that is absolutely amazing experience that pulls you in and really gives you a blast for its stay. While doing what it is supposed to and not overstaying its welcome. Because this is still way better than 30h game with a lot of filler content, repetitive generic objectives, icon filled map, bunch of chores and so on... Like whole dollar per hour metric really isn't great way of measuring quality of experience.

Not saying Stray will be amazing, obviously I haven't played it yet, but just commenting on whole only x hours fro y dollars. There is or can be way more to the game than that.

Everyone is estimating it wrong! You have to think like a cat!
Run for 20 minutes, Nap for an hour, Run for 20 minutes, Nap for an hour!
Game time when played like a cat 100+ Hours! :P

We kneeds an SDK and API and then something like MetaPets or MetaCats so that we can create and input our own cats into the game....

I've beaten "Journey" (another notable Annapurna Interactive title) several times and it never gets old for me. Something cathartic about just wandering around the sandscape, jumping, making pinging noises, and reliving the story again and again. Same with "Flower". Gamers enjoy games for a variety of reasons, so it's OK if you feel like this isn't something you'd get a lot of replay value out of. However, for me personally, I enjoy coming home from work and sometimes unwinding by replaying a relaxing game I've already beaten.

I'd pay that much for Journey which you can finish in like 2 hours. If those 5 hours are great I'll gladly pay 30. Where I live going to the movies cost more if you calculate the cost per hour. Also when you get older you appreciate games that don't outlast their welcome.

tf you talking kid? First of all why are you talking about pricing that doesn't apply to you. And since the prices are adjusted per region are you saying 700rs is too much for a brand new game in 2022? You spend about half that to watch a 2 hour movie. I swear the gaming 'community' is just a bunch of idiot kids these days that just complain about everything. You think it's cool and you wanna act like you're involved but you're just stupid.
I will pay anything for a cat cyberpunk game
