Anyone struggle with the first zurk encounter?
*Yes I was holding shift the whole time.*

It took me literally over an hour to get past the first mandatory chase section. For some reason the sprint function seemed ineffective and within seconds of every run I'd get swarmed and it would be far too much to push off because the swarm would be just behind me.

After 80 minutes of retrying I only managed to get to the end by just not getting hit at all, which was basically 99% RNG. It was beyond frustrating. Is it a bug? A mistake? I should not be reminded of battletoads when I'm playing a cute cat game.

Quite a few people struggle with that one.
Basically run straight at them, then zig or zag away when they jump.
Hold "Jump" while running will help getting up on things slightly faster. (This is kind of bugged on keyboard where hold jump+run dont work)

It probably easier with controller, but of course the mileagevary

No, it wasn't until I encountered them again later on that I started having problems.

I had a lot of trouble with it also, but all my controls were working fine :) A shame though, that what felt like ten minutes into the game I had to watch the cat die over and over.

Why is it even part of the game?

No person who likes cats wants that to happen.

It doesn't make a lot of sense. Isn't just being lost under ground enough struggle?

No way does that make sense in fact it seems cruel. Some people have anxiety, depression and animals cheer them up. Imagine watching one be torn apart for 80 minutes.

Why did they do that to the players?

I don't think I could handle it. And I'm not that good at games. Now factor in people with dexterity or mobility issues in their hands or arms. WHAT chance do casual players or disabled players have, to escape the "Zurks" and avoid the cat dying. So they will just be sitting there feeling panic for hours?

This game isn't that intensive. If you struggle with the mechanics via a keyboard and mouse it would be better for you to play with a controller.

People have different dexterity and mobility but I think you've partly misunderstood my concern. It is stressful to some, trying to make the cat run fast enough to get past the Zurks and then failing and dying.

Repeatedly.

I think experienced gamers might find things easy that other gamers don't, plus the cute animal and first person aspect. A lot of casuals will be drawn to this game. They can ignore that there are many types of players, or they can cater to them also, and sell more games.

All I did was run in a zig zag pattern and they missed me 99% of the time.

Certainly took some time to do the run without being grabbed even once for the achievement... So many restarts <.<

I cannot do this part. I`m stuck all the time. I`ll have to quit. I played too long to get my money back.
Flowgo Jul 24, 2022 @ 8:36am
I didn't struggle to much the first time but I definitely did during the sewer scene with those eggs bursting (why is this even in a cute cat game? ugh) I had to find a way to cheat it a bit but finally got through it by zig zagging. However by then I was pretty annoyed with the game and just quit. Wish I got this on sale at least, was excited to play but now not so much.

I mean, that's great for you. That is, of course, what I did because I understand how dodging works. Got hit about 2-3 times per attempt. What killed me every time, making it take an hour, was the big horde behind me jumping on me because the sprint function didn't seem to increase my speed by a noticeable amount.
Ghostvenger92 Jul 24, 2022 @ 6:40pm
whats hard about it? only struggled horde is the last one, try not to take 5 hours on that one tho haha

Just my two cents, but I think it would be interesting if the developers added an optional "no-enemies" game+ or something. I admit, I couldn't care less about those parts in the game.
For me, the core of this game is all about platforming and puzzles, and it does it very well.
Developers, please give us the option to play with no enemies!

Are you ok? Do you always get offended for other people?

This was never touted as a nice game. Just a game with a cat.

It's their story, so I would think they can tell it how they want.

Did you install some mod or something because the zurks never 'tear anything apart', they just grab him, red screen, restart.. your trauma seems forced.
