Platformer implies some kind of skill-based movement. Based on what we've seen, jumping in Stray involves you moving into an area that has a "jump" trigger placed by the level designer and pushing a gamepad button to engage a scripted sequence. Probably no way to fail the jump even, although if you have to hold the button during the animation to make it, it's still a kind of QTE instead of proper movement system.
An actual platformer would have you judging your approach speed/direction and timing the button push. The "jump" mechanic from Stray is something used to activate levers and open doors in other games.
Please point me towards the exact trailer and give me a timestamp, if possible. I only saw what I described
I will not regret buying this poor stray cat..
